So it's 39-43... I can't believe coach&GM will be here next season after this failure.

Hardy and Dinwiddie are the worst Mavs basketball player in years.
Low IQ and 0 defense. Trash.

Brandon hopefully was not hurt. Hardy and Din sort of gave up on D if you ask me. It was an embarrasment to watch this game losing by 35 points.

Next game is a playoff game with AD Lively PJ Klay and if looks from this game matter then I would trim it down by a lot who I play with those 4.

Brandon and Exum need to play the PG minutes obviously the center belongs to Gafford and Lively. PJ, Klay and AD need to play as many minutes as they can but with our bigs all coming back from injury we will need to play Kai some out there to reduce their minutes so that is 8 players. Playoff teams tend to play fewer guys and if that is all we played then that is a look I officially endorse given how badly our guys looked today.

At SF your playing only PJ so does anyone deserve minutes behind him? I see Naji as a midrange only kind of guy and someone you allow to shoot the 3 so I am losing faith in his fools gold production because his 3 game sucks and he tends to lose his focus and turns the ball over way to many times. His offense is okay when he is getting it closer to the basket but even then your better off using AD and our other bigs in that kind of game.

At SG behind Klay you need 3 pointers and lets look at the order of who shoots them best. https://www.espn.com/nba/team/stats/_/na...t/dir/desc

So of guys not in the rotation so far we are limited to looking at Hardy and Max

For a defender you bring off the bench I would say that Kessler and Omax might be useful but that is not happening.

If I limit the rotation to a play off rotation I am only playing these guys

Lively Gafford
AD Kai PJ
PJ Max Klay
Klay Max
Brandon Exum

Oh that is right we have no Kai now in the playoffs. Hopefully AD can play heavy minutes and that goes as well for lively and Gafford or it is Powell we throw out there.

If someone is hitting every 3 in pregame shooting maybe I play them in certain situations behind Max

This is not a deep team.

I put no weight in the performances we saw today. The point was to rest players and get through 48 minutes with no injuries, and how anyone played was meaningless on the question of a playoff rotation.

We already know how the minutes will go, mostly, because their better players are already known. And (other than Kyrie and OMax), it looks like everyone will be full speed and available, as needed.

Usually the rotation gets shortened a lot, because after your top players get used 35-40 minutes each, and maybe even more, there's not so much left. However, I do think backup veteran players like Naji and Martin (and maybe even SD) will get more minutes than we might tend to predict, because the playoffs are a war.

Welp that closes the books on probably the worst season in franchise history.

Throwaway DVR game is a good descriptor for this one. I also agree with FGump that it appears everyone that is needed is ready to go. The Kings don't have great PG play either, which is pretty big for us in terms of matchups. I don't mind Dinwiddie/Exum/B-Will against what SAC has.

And yet.... I don't think this team makes it out of the play in.

Maybe we were just setting up Memphis for what could be our second play in game. I like that AD is summoning his NCAA experience of the one and done environment. We get a glimpse of what our big dominant team could look like without Kyrie. I sure would like to see 6 or more games of this team. We can learn a lot moving forward by how we play against a very good OKC team that is not all that big.

On the other hand, if we lose say the 2nd game we are still back in the lottery. How might that look. If our worst season doesn’t earn us lottery luck then perhaps nothing ever will. I’m afraid we have known the answer to that for a long time.
