Yes, i can understand that avoid the reality can help but fake optimism is way worse than my posts... This organization deserves blame every minute of their tenure until they will go away. 

No plan B when you lost the fanbase.

"Fake optimism" is your opinion, and you're using it like a blunt pipe, beating all of our heads in, and you're doing it on purpose. 

The organization does deserve blame and criticism, but ruining this place doesn't punish them, it punishes US, and it will not make them "will go away." They're probably not going anywhere, and if they do get fired it will certainly have nothing to do with anything written here (I wish we had that type of power, but they're likely not even aware we're here following the team). 

Up to you whether you're a fan anymore - no hate if you decide you're not. But, we're not going to allow you to make this place a den of misery. It's probably hard to understand, but some of us enjoy debating this stuff, and some of us like reading each other's words, regardless of how the Mavs are going. 

Final warning before the bans start. I hope you can find a way not to be a blight on the community, because the more the merrier (if there's at least a little "merry" mixed in).

Mavs just announced they are raising ticket prices for next season.

I think they have a pretty good grasp on how quickly the Luka-AD kerfluffle will blow over, at least for the paying fans.

The fact that the Mavs are still just 1 game out of a top 6 seed is mind boggling to me.

I think it's because they have a pretty strong and deep roster.  If anything, they have a problem with too many talented players who want and deserve more minutes than a healthy roster would allow.

So, perhaps it's been a blessing in disguise. Lots of additional minutes available.

Seems like it's important to have guys on the bench who can "be ready" and reasonably content with uncertain playing time.  Maybe Grimes wasn't that guy. Maybe guys in the prime of their careers aren't good candidates for that role.

If DLive was healthy and playing 30 minutes a night, I get the feeling that maybe Gafford wouldn't be content with the remaining 18.  But Lively has missed lots of games, and even when he was healthy, Kidd did a good job of keeping their minutes similar.  Gaff strikes me as an easygoing guy who cares about his career, but won't demand star billing or dollars.

I definitely think it's this combined with Kidd being a great coach. I'll totally own it that I didn't think he would be. I'm incredibly impressed with him in Dallas. Nico has definitely built a very good roster of good types of guys. Hard workers with a defensive focus.

I think Grimes wanted to have a stronger role as evidenced by him not signing what was offered. I was wondering if he would get moved when that happened.

Very well put, KL. I'm thinking that this all will die down at some point. But some are so upset that they will never let it go. To be truthful, I'm tired of talking about it. What's done is done. I will try my best to avoid future conversations about Luka and the trade. That's why I frequently post in the Around the NBA thread or the Trade & FA thread.  I'm a fan of the Mavs and Pistons (I was born and raised in Detroit). I like to see what else is going on with other teams instead of constantly seeing people bitching and talking about Luka who didn't have a say in the matter at all.

I imagine they did a lot of research before pulling the trigger on the trade, both on the personnel side as well as the PR side. 

Nico said something in the original press conference about understanding the magnitude of the trade, and I believe him.

I thought the FO/ownership came out and admitted they were unprepared for fan backlash.  Then they completely bashed Luka and antagonized the fanbase with ejections.  Between the trade itself and the poor handling of the aftermath, I'm not really sure where you find the confidence that this organization is handling ticket prices properly.

An 8% increase for next season no less. After a 30% price hike last year.

Agreed. I’ve stopped mentioning it as well. I’ve been watching highlights of that other team to see how he is doing. But, it’s time to move on with the players in the building. 

I’ve been so impressed with how the team is playing missing that many players. Best coaching effort from Kidd I’ve seen. Impressive. Can’t wait to see the team whole. They have a shot at being great.

Gafford's injury was a Grade 3 MCL which is a full tear. According to Google that usually requires surgery and often involves other injuries. Surgery is usually done in 7-10 days but I don't think anything has been reported.

I guess Dallas could announce Gafford had successful surgery, but even if he didn't go under the knife, it sounds like the usual recovery time is 3 months for a Grade 3

That would put Gaff out until a month into the playoffs

Once again, if Gafford isn't playing by the play-in, this team makes the lottery. While my name is not cow, I think that Lively will have trouble holding up if he's the only healthy center; same to some extent with AD. 

Oh, well. Silver's opportunity to reward us for gifting a generational talent to the Lakers.

That's what has me worried. On the off chance Mavs get that pick I can see Nico's eyes light up with the thought of how quickly Phoenix would trade KD for it

I think the league has three reasons to give us Flagg. 1) we're contender immediately with Flagg and leading the mavs to a championship early in his career gives him a much higher starting point than carrying a scrub team from the ground. 2) it's better for the league to have a new face that is American rather than Slovenian, no discrimination though, just think it helps in terms of commerce. 3) as a compensation to the mavs who, assuming Nico remains in office, will trade the prime Flagg to a big market where dude's commercial value can be maximized as new face of the league.
