Why Dinwiddie gets minutes over Grimes makes me so mad

I don’t really care what any of you say at this point, and this is coming from someone was completely against the signing this summer: the Mavericks are very fortunate to have a player of Dinwiddie‘s caliber as a minimum bench depth signing. If this season becomes anything at all, that will be one of the best moves they made, considering all of the injuries they are having to navigate.

Nice rally at the end of the third. Grimes and Din with some big baskets. Omax plays so hard, he just needs to improve his anticipation and awareness. Glad he is getting some minutes though.

It is a shame how Zion’s career has played out. There was so potential. He is such a talented player. Even when he is not a super high flyer any longer. You can’t keep him out of the lane.

Trey Murphy would be so good on the Mavs

Agreed on Zion. He’s like Daniel Gafford with Naji Marshall’s handle. That’s hard to deal with.

He’s got that super-quick first step. It almost guarantees that he’ll be able to go around someone.

PJ with a dribble pull up above the break 3 is crazy improvement from last year.

Wow..nice run.

Pj will always be a streaky shooter, but he has made a jump this year that I was hoping for. At least so far.

Right?  I'd rather TM3 than Herbert Jones.

What a stretch. Beautiful ball.

PJ dribble pull up 3. Klay continuing his torrid shooting with a great 3. Then Gafford just out jumping and out working everyone for every rebound. Capped off for another above-the-break PJ 3.

He did not have that last year. Huge improvement.

Couple of things here:

1) I don’t think folks around here realize how much potential he has to improve on offense over the next 2 to 4 years.

2) since coming here, Zion is literally the first defensive assignment they have given him that I have thought overmatched him a little bit, and I think it messed with him a little bit tonight, but even under those circumstances, he is coming through in the fourth when it counts, and they have clearly figured out that Zion can’t guard him on the other end.

I know he is a well liked player on this board, but I still think he’s underrated.

Gafford with another monster game. Limit the turnovers and contest threes these last 5 minutes.

Count me as one of the few that just didn't think PJ had this type of ceiling on offense. Basically since Luka has gone down he's been a solid 17/9 on good shooting percentages coupled with ELITE defense and hustle.

He's still only 26. If PJ magically adds a game off the dribble then he could even be an all-star at his best.

Not sure why Kidd has Edwards in this game and not Klay or Grimes.

You can tell Kidd likes Edwards defense. He has a good future in this league if he can provide anything on offense
