As I already wrote in the other thread, Kyrie already played with him in Brooklyn, so Nico hopefully got his okay to invest in him.

Even if he might not pan out, he's at least putting on pressure on OMax, because at the moment both might not be too far away from each other production-wise.

He's a 6'8 wing with some athleticism and the barebones skills to shoot.

As a 2-way guy, its not a bad signing. This also almost guarantees Lawson is out of here right?

@pandahank41
Check out the defensive versatility of Kessler Edwards

Looks like he can really move his feet and has a bounce in his step.
Give me a DJJ starter pack as a project any day of the week over a small scoring guard, especially for our Luka and Kyrie centric team.

Does not impact Lawson either way.

I understand this has no direct effect on Lawson, but the fact the Mavs are looking at another athletic big wing to develop, that space of already limited development minutes available are that much fewer.

To me that makes it seem that Lawson is guaranteed to be gone (on top of all the other reasons.

You lost me with the "looking for another athletic big wing to develop." Did I miss something from Stein, or something, or are you just referring to Kessler Edwards, saying that he's going to get the developmental efforts that have been going to Lawson?

I assume Lawson is gone, too, but to make way for Morris. You don't think they're going to sign Morris, or am I misunderstanding you?

Stein also reported again yesterday that we want Morris back - that would probably the end for Lawson, which is totally fine for me.

I am merely just referring to Edwards filling a 2-way spot, the one that Lawson occupied, and assumed he'd also be used in a similar fashion. As in a couple of minutes here and there in garbage time.

I do think the Mavs are going to sign Morris 100%.

Not officially but Morris himself said he was coming back on Twitter in the early days of free agency and Stein has said multiple times of Mavs interest in bringing Morris back.
