He's a FA in 2025, and it feels like his contract and play is a really bad fit for what they are trying to build-- in fact, so bad that I'm thinking they'd just let him walk. So it feels like they would try to move him asap and get something of value in return.
But where? Does he fit elsewhere? Or if team X exists, would they just wait until 2025?
Complicating things is that he will be looking for massive money next summer, as in 4 yrs and > $200M.
What's his market? Or is there one?
It’s always tough when a player or his agent has an unrealistic picture of his value.
Makes it difficult to trade for him, knowing it’s unlikely you’ll reach an agreement.
I expect he’ll either be traded for a bad contract, or just become a free agent at the end of his deal and find the market very disappointing. Maybe $15-20m a year?

This is a really good example of when I think teams should be extremely honest and say, "yes, the CBA sets guidelines for what we could give you, but those are merely guidelines and not must-dos... so, even though we could offer you this many dollars, we don't want to and will not because you have so-and-so holes in your overall game, for which we must pay high-level salaries to other high-level players in order to compensate and cover for your flaws... and most importantly, we won't be able to build a championship team after giving you a max contract.. and therefore, this is how much we are willing to go up to".
30M per season is the absolute maximum I would be willing to pay him. Or 5 years @ 150M... which is a BOATLOAD of cash. Generational money, keeps the family fed, and all that jazz.
I think this every time I see BI. Brother look Zooted.
Could be a definite lack of professionalism/addiction problem.

I doubt he could perform if it's anything beyond weed (see OJ Mayo). His demeanor has always been a knock. I wouldn't be bothered by it if his teammates aren't.

Ya'll are really sleeping on Memphis. They could very well get back to being a top 5 seed that they were a few seasons ago. They drafted Edey and Cam Spencer. They've developed a lot of young talent last year due to all the injuries. Pippen Jr, GG Jackson, Jemison, Miller, etc. They also are well coached. They're currently 4-0 in SL. Ya'll better recognize.

GG is progressing at a future allstar rate. Love the kid's game. I just don't see Edey ever getting more than 18mins/game in today's NBA.

Has anybody done an analysis of Summer League record vs. regular season record?
Inquiring minds want to know.

I remember the superteam that was the Mavericks Orlando Summer League team in 2017 that went undefeated led by the great Ding Yanyuhang. Most unstoppable team I've ever seen. Mav legends such as Yogi Ferrell, Satnam Singh, DFS, Nico "The Orignal Nico" Brussino, and even AJ Hammons.
Mavs got Luka the very next year.

WBD should buy localised NBA rights. Mark Cuban really is a bit special. Maybe instead of TV rights, they can buy audio broadcasting rights and do play-by-play on Spotify for a $9.99 monthly subscription.

ESPN Sources: New York Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau has agreed on a three-year contract extension that’ll take him through the 2027-2028 season. A two-time NBA coach of the year, Thibodeau has led the Knicks to consecutive conference semifinal berths.

Amazon has interest in acquiring “Inside the NBA,” per @SBJ
“Amazon, which will officially stream NBA games starting in 2025, has interest in pursuing members of TNT’s revered ‘Inside the NBA’ studio show, according to Jay Marine, global head of sports for Prime Video. Marine told SBJ that Amazon Prime Video used ‘Inside the NBA’ as a model for its Thursday night NFL pregame, halftime and post-game show, and — should the TNT cast of Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith, Shaquille O’Neal and Ernie Johnson become available — said, ‘Obviously, there’ll be a lot of interest, and we’ll just have to see how that plays out.’”

Probably more about Jrue's specific weaknesses/strengths. Big guard trying to stay in front of smaller and quicker players. Rose might be the player with the most explosive first step in NBA history. Young Kemba was super quick as well. And the obligatory Kobe tribute.

Obligatory Kobe tribute? Oh c'mon. Perhaps, I'm reading you wrong... but Kobe was amazing and a 1-on-1 defender's nightmare.
I think you dun forgot that magical night when Kobe outscored the whole Mavs team (including Dirk) by himself over 3 quarters.
