OMax still looks quite raw but I like his aggression. This team doesn't run any sets that will get him shots he'd normally get on the main team so I'm not worried offensively. His shot looks smoother and quicker.

Lawson literally cannot do anything correctly. Dribbling off his foot, driving into a crowd, taking bad shots, lazy defense.

It´s good news for Ajinca that I can immediately tell whether his 3pt shot will go in or not. So there is some shooting motion, if he can solidify it, that works. Unfortunately I only thought three would go in so far, two did, the third was in and out, while the rest was just massive bricks. In a way he seems like a French Justin Anderson. He just lacks touch and everything is about mechnical repetition and work ethic.

Ajinca comes into the game and hits his 1st 3 off the dribble. Looked incredibly smooth

Lawson refuses to pass the ball on the break and runs right into a Heat player and forces a jump ball instead of moving it.

The dude needs to be waived today.

You can probably say the same about Omax. Neither has any touch, as you saw with their missed lay-ups.

The backup center Wheylan has the lowest motor and worst habits I've seen. Just lets open rebounds fly over him and doesn't contest on defense.

Ajinca with a solid airball.

I think OMax's shot is a bit more consistent (on this scale).

Ajinca showed some solid touch the first game with those 2 acrobatic layups in the 3rd quarter.

I think for both guys it´s basically a 3&D ceiling, if everything goes right. That´s their only shot at the NBA. Ajinca actually seems to have better court-awareness. Omax like you say seems to have a more consistent jumpshot, but his court awareness seems awful. Once he decides to put it on the floor it´s going THJ.

I think Gortman will get offers from Europe, maybe Miller. B. Williams should go, if he does. Two way is a waste of his time. He´s never making it in the NBA, but maybe he can be a star in Europe like Larkin or Roddy.

OMax looked 10x better in last year's summer league. So much so we were thinking how many minutes he'd get in the regular season.

I don't think this year's roster and scheme helps Omax look good at all.

They should get Sharp with Luka for a week of training camp. He´ll be embarrassed, but learn more in five days about playing defense than he did in five years of college.

This is a completely useless SL experience for O-Max similar to Hardy last year. He clearly can´t dribble, finish one on one or make passing plays out of it. It´s either a TO, missed shot or rarely (friendly) FTs.

Another rough Omax offensive performance. He just doesn't look comfortable on offense at all. A few times he had good position and instead of being aggressive and going right at it, he kept trying to get better position and either turned it over or got to a more difficult position. With his length it should be quick, decisive action. Disappointing...I thought he was a little better with the ball. He has a long way to go with this. I would really like to get him 6-7 threes a game here though.

Gortman is a player. The only one looking like one today. OMax' offense is so far away from beeing NBA ready that i doubt he ever gets there. He's almost the worse of the bunch today.

I don't think we have a two way on our roster. Miller is interesting, just not sure he deserves a spot yet. 24 too. Melvin needs to go overseas for another year. I would love to get Gortman on the G-league team for a year, but he is not ready for a two way either. Same with Sharp. Please no Fudge. He can't play.

Just be aggressive Mavs. Don't settle. Find guys who at least have a punchers chance of making it.

Yeah I dont get why Dudley doesn't get OMax 4 threes a quarter. Just demand it every time out.

He´s also showing some good PG instincts, making good decisions with off ball movement, too. Of course his blind teammates won´t pass him the ball, when he´s wide open. He´s also playing hard on defense. I´d like to see him on a two-way.

As I say that....airball
