I have a bigger trade in mind but let me start with Step One:
Would you sign and trade Kyrie for Jrue Holliday and Grayson Allen's one year remaining on his deal?
Luka needs defense next to him.
Giannis needs offense and a pick and roll partner

Of course. But, Milwaukee is deep in tax, so SnT is quite difficult to pull for them.

Actually, no, Milwaukee is $4.1mil under the tax. Secondly, sign and trades are only difficult if they are over the apron, which they are not.

Hm. Milwaukee is (slightly) under the tax with just 8 players under contract and Lopez, Crowder and Ingles walking for nothing. I just don't see how you could keep them under the apron while filling all the holes on the roster. If Irving is a replacement for JRue, you still need replacements for Lopez and Allen and 5 more players.

Well I posted on a Bucks board. They're looking to dump Crowder, Ingles and Allen anyway. And their frustration is they don't have any playmakers. Allen wound up with the ball and the season on the line. That's bad.
And they agreed Kyrie for Jrue was a good deal. It could be expanded, too.

Ingles and Crowder are FA anyway, so they are gone, if they don't want them. Still, they need to bring in two guys and they want to get something from them, at least for regular season. Even vet min for vets costs something. But the big problem is Lopez. How are you replacing him, since you can't resign him if you do the SnT?
Leaving all the salary cap troubles asside, I don't think Irving and Giannis are a good fit as persons. Giannis is a really down to earth guy, maximally committed to what he does. I really respect him, his personality, his behaviour and views on the world. I don't think he would have any appreciation for shenanigans Irving is pulling on a regular basis.

I was originally completely against moving Kyrie to LA this summer, but if we can get Austin Reeves, Vanderbilt, Hachimura, and Russell, I'd be all for it. Austin Reeves can flat out play. We'd have depth, quality role players, quality bigs. Kyrie is amazing, but I think Luka and those 4 are much better than Luka/Kyrie. Maybe even get a pick from them if possible.
Austin Reeves is fearless too. The moment doesn't get too big for him. He doesn't back down to stars. He seems like someone who really has another step to take soon. He's good.

In a hearbeat. Jrue is THE ideal backcourt mate for Luka. I've been saying that since NOLA made him available.

Reeves isn't going anywhere, unfortunately.

I agree Reeves is not going anywhere if they keep that team together, but if they want Kyrie, they cannot pay LeBron, AD, Kyrie and Reeves. He would have to be outgoing. He will command 20-25 million per year based on some of the reports I've seen.

Jrue and Portis for Kyrie works. Portis has improved his defense. Good scorer. Great rebounder.

Yeah, my thoughts exactly
Giannis has a contract for 2 more seasons (plus player option), so not sure why this is even news.

Reavers is a huge Laker fan. He told teams not to draft him so he could sign with them. I don’t think they’d do him dirty.
Kyrie for Jrue is an intriguing idea.

Wow. Somehow I think of Kyrie as significantly better than Jrue. But many posters here seem to have them as roughly equivalent value.
What am I missing?

LMAO. Another moment to remind ourselves that this guy left the Celtics, Cavs and Nets, because he FELT DISRESPECTED. And there is absolutely no positive way to spin this, cause either he´s legit that stupid/selfish or he´s just that smart to use this as another leverage negotiation play to get his money from the dumbest owner left. I´m sure Cuban is reading the arena as we speak and therefore is OUT.
The worst part is that Cuban could win the lottery and get Wembanyama, he´d probably give Irving 250M to crash and burn this place. Instead he should just trust Hardy´s development, trade Irving for 2-3 younger roleplayers and create a dynasty. And if the Mavs get #2, he´ll probably trade Scoot, because he blocks Irving, not the other way around.
