And Milt Palacio was an assistant coach on the Blazers, just how desperate for money was he to get involved in that fraud case

Aren't assistants paid 6 figure salaries?
I know Oregon is expensive to live but it takes quite few poor choices to be cash flow poor on a 6 figure salary.

They make an exception for Irving of all people, when it´s known that COVID is much easier transmitted on flat-earth with aerosols travelling in a straight line.

Lakers getting thinner as season nears. Ariza and THT already out for extended period.

Maybe it's naive of me, but I'm not the slightest bit worried about the Lakers this year. I think AD is great, but not really a winner, and Lebron is well past the days where he can consistently dominate. I think Westbrook plays hard (admirably so, even by professional standards) but isn't a particularly effective player in a way that causes a competitive advantage, and the rest of that team is a gang of geriatrics.

I don´t think he is playing "harder" than other players. Just with different less team focused priorities. Imagine a version of RW that isn´t chasing rebounds but instead closes out on shooters and/or tries to fight over screens. It´s not a new concept and most high usage star players coast on defense (including Luka) but when I think about players that "play hard" I tend to focus on guys that do it on both ends of the floor. If LeBron is still LeBron the Lakers will be one of the best teams in the west. If he is past his best they aren´t.

RW does put out a lot of energy, but it seems more like packing the box score than actually getting the wins. Saw a LAL highlight this weekend where RW pushed the ball up after a made basket, then missed AD by a mile with the entry pass. Apparently RW wanted AD to come out to get it and AD was trying to get a low post position. Next time, AD came out for the pass, but then was stuck 1on1 on the perimeter to try and do something with it. They have lost a couple of "dirty work" guys and LAL may start wondering what the rotations are going to look like.

I agree. His pick vault is impressive but at one point you have to start building a serious team.

Let me clarify: I think he does what he does faster than most other players, and not only in "he's just faster than other players" sort of way. I think his conditioning and willingness to spend energy consistently is admirable, personally. Now, how often he's doing the correct thing, or the thing his team needs him to do in order to win...that's another story. I don't think he's a very smart player, and I certainly wouldn't want him on my team.

sort of surprising. I didn't watch much of him but I thought he looked like an interesting prospect in one of the G-leaugue games. Former first round pick. It is nice to see Dallas is not the only TX team who whiffs on picks.
