Kidd is a little snake. He is also angling for the GM position by all accounts. If rumors are to be believed, he also turned in the screws on Nico, once he realized Nico was on thin ice. He specifically put Coop at the point because he was not happy with the DLo acquisition. What other things will he do if he's not happy with some of the moves of the new GM? If I'm a GM, I'm extremely wary of working with him. Sure the GM can cut him loose at that point, but it's so much energy and time wasted.
I hope they hire someone a head coach from the college ranks and hire a young gm like Toronto did. someone not named matt Riccardi who worked with Jason kidd in Brooklyn.

Thoughts of David Griffin? Man, he last two years in New Orleans were not good. Although he had a stretch of some really good moves. Not sure what happened the last two years. Have a supposed super star not be a super star can really mess up plans though. Also, New Orleans could be cursed.
He did do a good job with draft picks later too. Although, some obvious misses too.

DG would be tough to get behind. In light of how bad Nico was, they really need to knock this one out of the park, frankly.
I think Dumont has the money to hire ANYONE he wants bad enough. And I think on some level, he does have management skills. (Who saw Welts coming, for example?)
I'm still focused on Presti.

Dumont has to show something to the fanbase and the world, he will hire the best GM available no matter how much is the price.

I mean, why would Presti want to come here? He’s at the beginning of a potential dynasty he created, and has picks into the 2030’s. This next draft is our last first rounder for 4 years.

I prefer to get Donnie back over Griffin, and this isn't me suggesting to get back Donnie

Interested to see what pieces we have going into the summer. If they trade AD depending on the return probably decided what they do with PJ. Also what draft pick they get. This TDL and summer are probably the most important for a long time since we don’t own picks, we need a GM.

If we are talking pipe dream I am definitely calling Brad Stevens. Try to money whip him. He doesn’t miss much. Also gets off players at good times.

I wouldn't mind this hire at all.
I have the same doubts about the likelihood of this I have about Presti. These guys become successful specifically because they've found a situation that allows them to do their thing with enough support and freedom to follow their instincts. I don't think it's likely to be possible to tear them away, because I'd imagine MOST GM jobs come with silly hurdles you have to jump, even in the best of situations, and Dallas, in the wake of I don't know how many front office controversies over the last decade and the most universally hated trade in recent sports history...well, it probably doesn't appear to be an easy job from afar.
I hope they try for guys like Stevens, Presti, whomever, and I hope they're willing to pay to make something like that happen, if that's all it would take, but in my heart of hearts I don't think they could even get those guys to think about leaving their current situations, and there are probably 4-5 others I'd put in that same category. Ultimately, I just hope the new hire somehow ushers in a sense that they'll be doing things the right way, and that it's ok for us all to feel confident in the team's direction.
