2 years younger and 2 in taller than THJ with very similar stats. THJ signs for vet min while Dunc gets $48M over 3 years.

What am I missing?

While I agree that Detroit overpaid for Robinson, I think he is a better player than THJ. Robinson is shooting mostly threes at highest levels of difficulty and shooting almost 40 %. THJ is shooting also a lot of mid range and is far less efficient overall.

Edit: only approximately half of Robinson deal is guaranteed. First year and half of second. So his contract is also designed to be a handy trade chip if needed
