What is YOUR consequence after Luka leaving?

Irving is one of the worst defensive players in the league. Mavs will be nowhere near the top defensive teams. Dinwiddie and Klay are also sieves

This is true. Klay’s now a worse defender than Luka. It will be a good defensive team, but not nearly the best. Probably not even better than at the end of last season. A great perimeter offense, like the Mavs used to have, will be a bad matchup for these Mavs.

I accidentally voted „stand with the Mavs no matter what“. It should be „I don’t know“.

Despite the time zone differences (I live Germany) following the Mavs has been a big part of my personal life for 15+ years and a true passion. I’ve stayed up till 3-5 am probably a few hundred times over that time frame for games, trade talk, FA drama, the draft or even Summer League (yuck). It’s been an outlet from real life responsibilities and the ups and downs that come with that. It’s hard to step away from all that but trading Luka in that fashion is just so so brutal to come to terms with. He was our next Dirk. And they still ran him off the team in the most disgusting way.

I honestly don’t know. I will root for Luka wherever he goes, but right now I don’t want any part of the Mavs. It’s just a mess and despicable all around.

Deron Williams
Dwight Howard
Melo
Hassan Whiteside
Mike Conley
Kemba Walker
DeAndre Jordan
Al Horford
Jeremy Lin

The list of guys the Mavs chased in FA over the years and couldn’t convince to come here is long and full of letdowns. Luka is miles better than all of those guys and unlike them he actually wanted to be here despite the flaws in the organization. No player is perfect but he performed at an absurdly high level from day 1, was deeply committed to the team and gave us hope when Dirk’s time came to an end. In the end it didn’t even matter, they still ran him off the team. It’s absolutely mind boggling to me.

Seeing the reactions from fans and followers of the team just feels terrible. There’s an interview with a middle aged spanish speaking lady in front of the AAC. I don’t speak the language but she’s slowly tearing up the longer she talks. Just heart breaking. Bobby Karalla is a super positive guy but he MFed Nico in a podcast, Followill looked defeated on the broadcast and twitter is still full of sad & angry people. Luka, the fans and many people in the organization deserved better than this. It’s a mess.

Can’t really root for anybody else, not even the german guys in Orlando. Following the NBA is insanely entertaining bc of the year long drama but the Mavs were always the center of my interest and passion for the game. They are Dirk’s team afterall, but the current regime is absolutely classless and tbqh I wish them nothing but the worst.

I gave it a try, but I give up on Laker fandom. I’ll have to be a casual fan and just catch Luka in the playoffs and every now and then. Those west coast start times are too much for me. To Hell with Nico. He’s ruined basketball.

Rooting for the Lakers is so different from rooting for the Mavs. I mean, they get every single call. It’s like the anti Mavs. It feels dirty. The Mavs have had a very friendly whistle these last two games as the league is in crisis response mode to save the credibility of the franchise. That will end, but the Lakers, it’s crazy. They have a different set of rules.
