Game 35: Cleveland Cavaliers (29-4) vs. Dallas Mavericks (20-14) | 7:30pm CST

Really nice third by Grimes. Dinwiddie body language did not look good when he didn’t start third. Looked low energy when he entered. Ugh Maxi. His confidence is shot. I thought we would be covered with ball handlers entering the season. Seeing Hardy struggle and Din not being able to be a lead ball handler with everyone out is tough to watch.

Grimes and Lively are going off right now. Hardy slightly joining in. I am shocked at how well they are willing this team back into the game

Problem with Dinwiddie is that he is on a minimum deal and has 1 foot out of the league. If he has a piss poor attitude the Mavs should waive him and move on.

Gafford comes back in and it's an offensive rebound into a 3. Then drops Grimes' pass and it's a highlight play.

Kidd is going to Kidd. Should've just left Lively in the game.

This grimes is going to look real nice with everyone healthy. He has shown he can hit the open three. But his play off the dribble plus some real nice simple passes are really impressive.

Hardy having his best quarter of the year so far. Which isn't a high bar, but he's stepping up when it matters most.

Grimes is going to cost a lot.
But he is a keeper.

A lot of reserves but the defense is still really bad. At least they are fighting. It won’t be enough but there are a few positives.

Evan Mobley has really stepped up his game. Him and Garland are reason's Cleveland has took a big jump as a team. He’s a hard cover now. He might be the Most Improved Player for this season.

Not saying we were going to come back, but Jason Kidd manufactured the perfect situation to make sure it would never happen.

Horrible game from everyone aside from Lively and Grimes.

Is it bad that I'm convinced if we have Luka and Kyrie we win this game? That's almost 50 points we're missing right now.

Certainly would have a better chance.  Although the defense is bad now.  The team is not connected and they are in a bad place right now.  It is probably just them being short handed but wonder if there is some stink in the locker room right now.  Something feels off.  Or maybe they are playing a real good team who knew Mavs had no shot if they played their B game.

I think you're onto something really. Something feels off. If there is something going on in the locker room, I'd bet some money it stemming from Gafford and Dinwiddie just based off of body language.

I am behind in the game but Livelynhas like one shot and is a complete non factor.  When everyone is healthy his role is limited, but I would still like more shot attempts.  With everyone out, you reallly wish he would have a 20 pt 15 rebound game.  We are so far from that now.  I don’t know who I should blame more.  lively or the team.  At a certain point you need to demand the ball.

Let me add, that I was pretty impressed with the Cavs last night. Duh...they have only lost 4 times all year.

They knew they were playing an overmatched team. They could play their B level game. Not mess around and escape with a pretty easy win.

The passing against the confused Dallas D was really impressive. Just a ton of easy looks.

Mobley was really impressive. 21 shots. Lively is not at this level. Not yet...maybe not ever. But I would like to see him get more scoring opportunities. He went 3-5 in 27 minutes. Being short handed, I want to see a game where he gets 15 shots. He has shown some nice touch this year. He still needs plenty of work on offense. If he is ever going to be our third best player (hopefully in the next year or so), he will need to be more independent on creating scoring plays. When he plays with Luka he will get scoring opportunities, but I hope there is more to his game as he matures. Mobley is about 3 years older then Lively, but has been a 15 pt a game player since entering the league. I would love to see Lively at this number in time.
