Game 31 Dirkie Thread: Maxi Kleber!
#1
Seems like we're in an alternate universe. We won the game. Had 5 players in double figures. Yet...who deserves my Dirkie?

P.J. and Naji were ejected. Gafford played Gafford-like. Kyrie started like a house on fire...but cooled off. Klay Thompson? Hmmmm.

Dinwiddie played ok, but I still feel that he needs to go for the best team play rather than call his own number.

Quentin Grimes never got uncorked, but had a few good plays.

Jaden Hardy? Oh, he's not on the poll. He has fallen out of favor and/or is trade bait.

I'm just surprised that the Mavs won the game...to be honest.

I guess I'll have to go with an outlier for the Dirkie. Maxi Kleber!...come on down...

Yes, Maxi. 6 points, a rebound, 2 assists, and a steal in the 4th quarter. That’s a clutch performance. Give the man his flowers.
Pessimism doesn’t make you smart, just pessimistic.

Got to give it to Maxi. Great game for him. For all the talk we give Kidd (me included) I am almost at the stage of giving him the benefit of the doubt. Even if the decision doesn’t work out.

Klay didn’t have huge stats but his a few huge shots, but I thought he was really good overall.

Din and Grimes also deserve some mention.

Not Dirk worthy and no stats, but Dwight deserves a mention. For a good team, he probably should not make a regular rotation. But last night is why you want him on your team. He is always going to be ready and play hard and can make a positive impact more often than not when his number is called.

Btw, Kyrie had a low key bad game. He played hard but several turnovers. If you take away the early 3-4 threes to start the game and then realize he finished 6-21….that means he missed a ton after his hit start.

Yet we still won the game--even with the bad game from Kyrie.  This actually should make us feel better about the "team".  I don't know.  This game had a kind of "Alice in Wonderland" feel to it.  The next game will be interesting.  Maybe give us a better idea of how the team will play without Luka--even when multiple key players have bad games, or get ejected.  I thought P.J. Washington's ejection was sort of pity pat anyway.
