I'm waaaay worried about where Hardy is, because this is a contract year for him. Will they give him a role, or will he constantly have something to prove when he's out there? Even if they DO give him a role, will he play it, or will he constantly have something to proves when he's out there?
All O-Max has to do is find a way to get on the floor. Either he will or he won't. The stakes are pretty low for him.
I don't think this is really a problem, he is not crucial for the team. Of course we all hope he becomes a good rotation player. But if not, he will not play and will not be on the team next season. At his contract, it is in any case difficult to find a better player and his value around the league is low anyway. You ride his minimum contract and decide in the summer. If he is not performing and someone offers you a SRP at TDL, you trade him.

Mavs are in a tough position. The team is built to win now. Can you depend on Hardy to be the third best offensive player on a team with championship aspirations?
I think they give him that chance and address it at the trade deadline if he's not up to it. (unless a guy like Tyus Jones is willing to sign for the vet min)

Like I said, I'm done with OMax. I just don't think he's NBA material unfortunately. He's an athlete, not a basketball player. Other sports like football this is enough, but basketball is a sport of skill and BASKETBALL ability.
I think Hardy has the ability and game to step in as our 3rd best scorer. Looks like we're priming him to have that opportunity. If he fails, it'll be that he's just not good enough, sink or swim time. I have high hopes. A good comparison is Herro.
