I think right now KPs trade value is not as high as some of us think. Injury prone borderline allstar that is not looking like his usual self right now. Sounds a lot like Oladipo, Hayward or Walker. Just need to scroll trough this thread to make the case against him. Only advantage he has over the mentioned guys is age and upside. That´s probably worth an extra 1st in a trade.

Let me ask a different way, more to my intention:

Say KP gets back to playing like he did numbers wise at the end of last year. Would you be willing to include him in a trade for Beal?

RE: ROSTER TALK: Trade/FA Ideas (Mar 25 TDL) + Salary Chart - KillerLeft - 01-29-2021

Not really news, but interesting. Oladipo seems to be a magnet for trouble. Whether or not it's his fault, I have no idea, but this is weird.

Id say no cause Beal was rated in 3rd to last in the league in defense last year. KP can give us both on a high level when he's healthy.

Id like to see something magical happen like trading THJ and anyone else not named Luka or KP plus some picks/ pick swaps for Beal. I can Dream...

RE: ROSTER TALK: Trade/FA Ideas (Mar 25 TDL) + Salary Chart - Mavs03 - 01-29-2021

I'm disgusted with the way KP is playing.  He and Luka don't seem to have that chemistry that I envisioned.  Is this a fair trade for both teams involved?

KP and Brunson to Chicago

for Lavine and Wendell Carter Jr

From Chicago's perspective, my guess is Lavine will leave Chicago in free agency in the summer of 2022.  KP is locked up through the summer of 2024.

Chicago's starting lineup:

Brunson
White
Markkanen
Williams
KP

I'm assuming they'll be a lottery team and as a result can strengthen their roster with their own 2021 1st round pick.

From Dallas's perspective, Lavine will be our Robin.

Dallas' starting lineup:

Luka
Lavine
Richardson
DFS
W. Carter

Burke
THJ
Green
Maxi
Powell

Johnson and WCS rounding out the bench.  Terry, Hinton, Iwundu, Bey, and Boban completing out the rest of the bench.

I would not be opposed to adding draft capital to complete the trade or some of our young assets in Terry or Green.  Your thoughts?

RE: ROSTER TALK: Trade/FA Ideas (Mar 25 TDL) + Salary Chart - Jason Terry - 01-29-2021

Drummond and Taurean Prince for KP and WCS

Even swap no picks

Watching this game tonight has me in the moment of open to trading KP smh...

RE: ROSTER TALK: Trade/FA Ideas (Mar 25 TDL) + Salary Chart - Branduil - 01-30-2021

If you were to trade KP, the likely best-case scenario would be the same as what we paid for him: a (not good) young player, two picks not expected to be good, and expirings.

Something like this:

RE: ROSTER TALK: Trade/FA Ideas (Mar 25 TDL) + Salary Chart - Branduil - 01-30-2021

Out of curiosity, what are the max possible contracts for John Collins and Talen-Horton Tucker next season?

RE: ROSTER TALK: Trade/FA Ideas (Mar 25 TDL) + Salary Chart - Omega_Supreme - 01-30-2021

Just so you guys know here are highlights of Drummond dominating Gobert

We have no big on our roster that can produce this stat line...Luka and Drummond would be sick on Pick and Rolls.

Not completly sold on the Drummond idea but the only available option is a trade. In case of a buyout he will sign with a contender. Most likely the Nets.

RE: ROSTER TALK: Trade/FA Ideas (Mar 25 TDL) + Salary Chart - hakeemfaan - 01-30-2021

Lonzo Ball would be high on my list whether KP is involved or not.  A big guard who can take the load off Luka and also plays hard on the defensive end.

Everyone in their cousin would do that deal. Wiz would probably ask for a lot more. KP looking like damaged goods right now.

At this point I am so low on KP, I am not sure this is a fixable problem (we will see). I doubt Mavs move KP any time soon but they have been aggressive in their moves since Luka got here so who knows.

A LaVine + WCJ for KP is a pretty fair swap given that LaVine will be leaving the Bulls one way or another before his deal is up. Bulls would have to hope that they fix what's wrong with KP. Mavs would look great with those two.

RE: ROSTER TALK: Trade/FA Ideas (Mar 25 TDL) + Salary Chart - aguiar95 - 01-30-2021

How about a Bledsoe/Redick deal? He's on the block, improved his 3-pt shot (41% on 5.5 attempts), good secondary ball-handler and defender. Redick is on a funk from dee not sure if it will last), but I'm sure he'll contribute with his vet leadership (and probably play 10 mpg). Leaves us a little thin again on the frontcourt (in case KP gets injured).

Terry/Hardaway/WCS for Redick/Bledsoe

Bledsoe/Brunson/Burke
Richardson/Redick/Green
Doncic/DFS/Iwundu
Kleber/Johnson/Bey
KP/Powell/Boban

RE: ROSTER TALK: Trade/FA Ideas (Mar 25 TDL) + Salary Chart - hakeemfaan - 01-30-2021

What is the attraction of a Bledsoe/Reddick deal? To me it seems like a move for the sake of it. We have one of the best young stars and a real posssibilty that if this continues he might force a trade in a couple of years. Go big in terms of doing it right.  The Lakers showed you can win with McGee and Dwight.  Target cheap strong veteran bigs. But for Luka’s running mate target a big guard who can shoulder the PG load for long stretches.  That’s why I would see what it takes to get Lonzo. LaVine is also a good choice but I like Lonzo’s defense a bit better.

Either way folks like Bledsoe and Reddick IMO are not the answer.

I like Ball but he offers no shot creation and that´s what the Mavs need right now. Ball is a good floor general, good defender/rebounder and okay spot up shooter but he has no pull up game and cannot finish in the paint. That´s also the reason why he isn´t a good pick and roll ballhandler. The Mavs need someone that can carry the scoring load. Not someone that can distribute the ball to mediocre teammates.
Replace THJ, RIchardson or DFS with a better scoring option and Ball makes a lot of sense but right now he would probably be another limited offensive player that is asked to do to much.

I disagree a lot on Lonzo. Don't think he helps us at all. Right now he's shooting 40/33/58, he does not get to the line, can't create his own shot, and is a pretty pedestrian creator on half court (so is Bledsoe). Oh yeah, and he's about to get paid (If Fultz got 50M/3y you can imagine how much Lonzo will demand). I'm fine if you wanna wait and get a stud next to Luka, but Lonzo isn't close to it.

RE: ROSTER TALK: Trade/FA Ideas (Mar 25 TDL) + Salary Chart - ThisIStheYear - 01-30-2021

It’s a pretty simple equation. The Mavs have Brunson, Green, and maybe a future #1 as semi desirable movable assets and then two big expiring contracts for players not in the long term plan, THJ and Johnson. Put all that together, what’s the best deal you can get?

I think the Bulls turn that down quickly.

Maybe

Lavine
WCJ
Felicio
Satoransky

for

Porzingis
THJ
Brunson
Green
unprotected 1st

I´d still do that trade.

LaVine 19.5
Richardson 17.4 (caphold, though I´m not sure he has much of an argument to get that much)
Powell 11.0
Satoransky 10.0 (5.0 guaranteed)
Doncic 10.0
Kleber 8.8
Carter 6.9
WCS 4.1 (non-guaranteed)
DFS 4.0
Burke 3.0
Iwundu 1.8
Terry 1.5

Roughly $15M in capspace, but could get to $20M by releasing Satoransky and WCS. Could also stretch it to a full max slot by not-resigning Richardson.

RE: ROSTER TALK: Trade/FA Ideas (Mar 25 TDL) + Salary Chart - hakeemfaan - 01-30-2021

To me another big guard next to Luka will help and also believe in the long run that would be the best chance for a title. Do we need shooters? Yes. But shooters can be got a bit more easier. What generally is difficult to get are big guards who can pass and defend. I know Lonzo has his flaws and that FT is not good. But he seems to be a hard worker and so the hope is that there is growth there.

If we get LaVine I am fine with that too but it will cost much more. Either way pairing a big guard next to Luka who has a chance for growth is what the Mavs should be looking at.
