Maybe the Lakers. Maybe New Orleans??? Yeah, maybe. Kind of depends on what they want to do with Reddick, I guess. RE: DAL OFFSEASON: Trade & FA (Nov 20) + Salary Chart | $109.1M cap - loki - 11-17-2020 The door is open if Dallas wants to move up. Houston could offer something like PJ Tucker + 16. The Mavs can easily beat that if they're willing to part with Maxi (or DFS?). Of course, Wright+18+31 would be even better. https://twitter.com/cruzfe13/status/1328584188866539522 RE: DAL OFFSEASON: Trade & FA (Nov 20) + Salary Chart | $109.1M cap - KillerLeft - 11-17-2020 (11-17-2020, 02:22 AM)loki Wrote: The door is open if Dallas wants to move up. Gotta say: given the events of tonight, I think the Mavs are even farther away from true contention than I've been saying. While I wouldn't hate a move for Hield or someone else who fits, this whole notion of adding more developmental YOUTH is looking better and better to me. While I wouldn't hate a move for Hield or someone else who fits, this whole notion of adding more developmental YOUTH is looking better and better to me.Completely agree. I think the Mavs are at least two major pieces away. Cap space next year may help land one, but they desperately need to make something happen in this draft as well. Ideally by finding an above average starter (the reason I want to trade up so badly), or at minimum a DiVincenzo level prospect. That would at least open up some trade possibilities like the one Milwaukee just took advantage of. RE: DAL OFFSEASON: Trade & FA (Nov 20) + Salary Chart | $109.1M cap - Omega_Supreme - 11-17-2020 I am okay with the Mavs approach. Teams get spending happy and turn into Philly or Portland without the results. They just need to stay steady and build it and stop ignoring the draft. Still so mad we didn't take advantage of last year's transitional phase. Next year and going forward I think we're going to see teams a lot better than the 2020 Lakers. You gotta think that Phoenix pick at 10 has to be in play along with Sacramento RE: DAL OFFSEASON: Trade & FA (Nov 20) + Salary Chart | $109.1M cap - KillerLeft - 11-17-2020 So the win now moves we're looking at, if they go that way: Hield Does Giannis coming off the board prompt them to take another look at the Hayward situation? Maybe offer a higher amount to him? Ditto, but for Gallo? Anything else out there? There's another one I like, but I won't bring it up (you all know what it is). This could still get interesting. We are now stuck between a bunch of win now super teams and a bunch of "we got all the picks in next 6 years and good young players" teams. It will only get tougher from here. Those years are perfectly balanced with heavy free agent years. My point is the years we have draft capital we need to use it and the years we do we need to lean heavily on trades. We also need to stop trading future draft picks. I would also be a fan of drafting and stashing a guy every year if we have the picks. Would the Celtics even be interested in taking THJ back? or would we have to find a third team that wants him? And we'd probably have to include Maxi to give Boston a reason to facilitate a SNT. Hield is an ok piece The intriguing name I circle back to is Oladipo. Is giving up 18 really that big a gamble on potentially getting a long term #3? Maybe wait til the draft and none of the guys you really like makes it to 18. Would THJ + 18 be enough for Indiana? RE: DAL OFFSEASON: Trade & FA (Nov 20) + Salary Chart | $109.1M cap - loki - 11-17-2020 (11-17-2020, 02:40 AM)KillerLeft Wrote: So the win now moves we're looking at, if they go that way:I feel like Hayward isn't opting out if he has to give up significant money this year. Not with so many teams having cap space next season. I'd be hesitant to make that size offer. I hope they wait and see how OPJ and Home Dipo bounce back. They are younger and might be better fits anyway. Gallo is such a disaster for Dallas defensively that I think any deal you offer needs to be movable. One possibility that could make this whole forum pull their hair out (even more than Rubio) is a THJ extension. For the right price it might not be the worst idea. Having him locked down to a team friendly contract could increase his trade value, and you could keep enough cap space for a $20 mil + offer to someone like OPJ or Hayward. Not saying that's necessarily the way to go, but it would not surprise me after hearing Donnie gush about the Hardaways on that podcast today. Not sure where we landed, but is THJ + #18 even legal? I would think they’d have to find another way, and honestly, what do you think Indiana feels like they can get for Oladipo NOW??? RE: DAL OFFSEASON: Trade & FA (Nov 20) + Salary Chart | $109.1M cap - Branduil - 11-17-2020 Seems like no trades are happening these days without multiple picks attached, even for role players.
