Yup, I see less than zero chance of that trade happening

Wow I actually agree with a bleacher report article for once. I would be happy to have any of those guys.

No Mavs players on wish lists for other teams. I would love Fournier, he would be lethal on this team with this floor spacing. Much better version of Seth Curry imho

I saw that too, but most of the players shown were players at least somewhat in the rumor mill being available. Not all, but most. So we can look at the players skill set that teams are looking for and plug our, currently rumor mill unavailable, players in, IMO.

Report came out stating NYK looking to add starter level players, not selling. I knew they will do something stupid

So here we go:
Nyk get Thj who proved he is a starter. He is also almost expiring so they can resign him at even higher salary.
Mavs get Ntilikina, Bullock and one of our picks back. Plus one of their PF to make salaries work. They choose who

Who says no?.

The New York Knicks are reportedly heading toward the Feb. 6 NBA trade deadline with an eye toward acquiring "starter-level players," not just selling off their own veterans for future assets.

Ian Begley of SNY reported Wednesday the Knicks' desire to avoid a fire sale comes as the "front office faces a tenuous future because of the team's poor play."

NYK says no.

Can you imagine the raucous uproar from their fan base if NYK trades back for the salary ballast that was their biggest selling point for the KP trade in just a year? And on top of it, they are trading away a cult favorite in Franky Smokes AND a pick they got for KP?

If the Knicks did that, I think it'd trump every other terrible move any franchise has ever done. The trade would basically be KP+Lee+Burke+Franky+Bullock for DSJ, Wes, DJ and 1 first round pick. The fact they just let DJ and Wes go simplifies the trade to all of those players for DSJ+ 1 first round pick.

Getting over just how hilarious it'd be for that to happen, I genuinely think the Mavs say no as well. While THJ may be one of the streakiest shooters of all time, he plays a valuable role for the Mavs. He's one of the only players on this team that can go get a bucket (regardless of how smart the shot is). I don't think the Mavs would loo to trade THJ unless they're getting back a guy with a similar skill.

I think the move is Bogdon from SAC. He's young, has a connection with both Luka and KP, and he has the ability to just light it up.

How about Brunson <--> DSJ  Wink Sick

I’d be happy to add Fournier! I’ve been trying to push for that addition since before the DSJ trade last year.

I'd definitely dip into my do-not-trade list for Bogdan. The Mavs very own triplets. Squeal!

With this in mind and if the BR is correct in their appraisal of Sac's wants:

Quote:Should the Kings decide to buy, they should chase a defensive-minded forward: Covington if they're willing to spend, Craig if they're not or Morris if they land somewhere in between.
I'd say DFS is the centerpiece in a Bog to Dallas trade. Money is absolutely right for their other high price tagged pieces. Bog for DFS and GSW second saves Sac money immediately and in cap hold for next offseason (Bog is $16.2M in cap hold this offseason vs. DFS $4M salary).

Edit: This trade only happens at the TDL once Sac has exhausted all other trade avenues. I think they would require the Dedmon for Lee swap to add value to the trade as well. I don't think we'd have a problem with that. It also might get them to bite quicker than the TDL.

I wouldn't go that far. Our defense is already the worst among above .500 teams. The only way I'm bringing Bog is if THJ or Curry leaves. DFS is our only player to defend the other team's best guard. We already have no other wing defender on the team. Of the 3 starting positions left (SG, SF and C), we should prioritize the SF and C for lack of depth.

THJ, Wright, Curry, Brunson (not counting Doncic and JJB because they are not getting traded). We are loaded at the guard position. We should take one of those guards with Lee/Picks/Jackson (maybe) and swing for a starter on the wing or center, where we lack starting caliber players.

That's why I said in the Trade Ideas thread, Mavs should move a starting PG to MIN (Brunson) ... so they can send a defensive Forward (Covington) to SAC ... and SAC sends Bogi to DAL. Everyone wins. Other assets need to be included, obviously. (Because MIN isn't sending Covington to Dallas for just Brunson + Mavs junk)

Oh, the wailing and gnashing of teeth on this board by next Feb. 6th when Bog, RoCo, and Turner are all traded to other teams because we didn't have the trade assets. Thanks again for that offseason, Mark and Donnie!

The Knicks situation is why you fire a GM if they are in the last year of their deal and the owner has no confidence to give them an extension.
Doing stupid trades to save their ass is always going to happen

Bring in a new GM or a temp that is looking to the future

RE: NBA Trade Rumors (New Drummond trade updates page 25) - ThunderMav - 01-08-2020

Not sure why you would break up the roster at this point they are the most efficient 5 in BB (Adams/CP/SGA/Dennis/Gallo).  I say run with what ya got.  The only thing that would change it is CP was traded then yes.  But otherwise if you have CP playing this good you run it out or even make small moves to improve.  I trust in Presti tho.  My guess is he always keeps his phone open even if no trades happen, just to keep up with options and market.

RE: NBA Trade Rumors (New Drummond trade updates page 25) - ClutchDirk - 01-09-2020

Article
Quote:Knicks forward Marcus Morris Sr. is a hot name around league circles for so many reasons, but the Knicks have no plans on trading him, a source told Yahoo Sports.
He’s on an expiring contract that he’s outperforming, capable of playing both forward positions and is shooting 46.9 percent from three on nearly six attempts a game.
The notion that his numbers are inflated because he’s playing for the Knicks haven’t quelled interest, but the Knicks seem set on keeping Morris as a piece for the present and future.
