Unfortunately, we have to assume that Dwight will never be the same. We have seen Wes and JJB come back from Achilles injuries here, but their games did not rely on athleticism. There is a really big chance he is never the same player. If Dwight wants to prolong his career, he will likely have to accept a reduced role. If we do ever get Dwight back, I don't see any problem with having all 4 of KP/Maxi/Gordon/Dwight.

Most importantly, RC can unlock AG. If Rick does so, Luka/THJ/DFS/AG/KP with whoever is left after a trade with ORL off the bench would be deadly.

If we could swing a deal based around Wright and Jackson I am in on Gordon. Orlando is going to want some draft assets and that is something of which we are on short supply. I would not use Maxi to get Gordon if we are talking about a reclamation project.

Ok... how do you propose to keep WCS while also pursuing RHJ? We are unlikely to have cap room. Vet min and the MLE are all there is. Edit: never mind, I missed the HTML of the post above that the MLE can indeed be split.

Capela --> Warriors
Covington --> Rockets
Russell + Lee --> Wolves
Crabbe + Culver + Jackson + GSW #2 --> Magic
Gordon --> Mavericks

That's the issue: last summer we refused to take on salary for assets, but signed those guys instead. Their contracts are the bargaining chips now if we want to get upgrades.

I wouldn't give Maxi even for one of the sugarplum crew. Too valuable to the team. I have him as our second-most untouchable player in trade after Luka (of course KP is still our number two guy, but I would trade him if we could get a juicy package in return due to the size of his contract plus injury concerns). If he's the price of doing business, I keep him and see what happens.

That's another capology question. In any event, I think RHJ is going to command at least $5 mil per, if not more than that. Other teams have the MLE as well.

You would get the nonQFA . WCS can get $2.61 million IF he opts out and gets a NQFA contract. RHJ would be about 3 million to start on the NQFA

Makes sense - our best offer would than be something over 6 Mio for 2 years with a PO ...

Those sound like too-good-to-be-true prices for a couple of rotation players. They'll cost more than that this summer - unless the Mavs really abuse WCS's desire to play in Texas and his liking of the Mavs.

Sounds like they want to keep him till the summer with the injuries to Isaac/Aminu. Nevertheless it seems clear that they have made their decision regarding who to trade and who to keep.

It´s just that we have no real need for Gordon, unless we trade Powell. And that´s basically the case for all above average frontcourt players. We can´t mess up our pay structure that way.

What I like is that the way our picks are trending, we should be able to get a player of the Gordon or LaVine quality with the picks alone, while not touching the bargain contracts of DFS, Kleber, Brunson and Curry. Proven young players with a little bit of a stink on them for playing on shitty franchises like Orlando, Minnesota and Chicago.

 Why would they? Guys like Kanter, Baynes, Theis, Noel or Holmes got $5M or less last summer.

Why? RHJ just signed basically minimum deal in the summer and he didn't really improve from last season. Still can't shoot. WCS is similar story. Unless he puts Capella like numbers, I don't see him reach above 4-5 mil per.

WCS is, rightfully, our starting center, or at least a big-minute bench guy, moving forward. RHJ would play big minutes here. Don't see why they would be that cheap, but would love to be wrong.

I think they're just being coy on Iggy to keep his price low (not a whole lot of other suitors who can take on his contract, and buying him out is an issue). Re: RoCo, the other suitors have them pummeled in terms of what they can offer, so there's not a whole lot of point in pursuing it.

Of course he is, except when they're playing five out. His competition is Powell, and it will be a basketball miracle if the athleticism-based DP comes back from the Achilles as anything better than an 11th man. Re: RHJ, he wouldn't play the minutes Jackson has now, but the minutes they had him slotted for at the beginning of the season before he started to bust.

It's more of a video on how the Magic aren't properly using AG. They mention the Mavs as a team he would be great on, but there isn't a specific trade proposal.

Cf. Matthews, Wesley; Powell, Dwight.

If the Mavs do acquire a wing, I strongly believe that Justin has to be part of the outgoing. Perhaps Lee and Justin plus cash or a future low second for MKG.
