Luka, THJ, Hield, KP, another body would probably be just lights out combination. Scoring 220 points per game and getting between 180 and 250 Btw: do you know what is THJ 2020 cap hold if he declines his option? Same as in 2021? RE: Mavs Trade Discussion + Salary Chart - BigDirk41 - 02-12-2020 I don't think THJ is going anywhere. If he opts out, it will be because Cuban has promised him a long term contract. I could also see him resigning for something along the lines of 5 years for 100 million. I personally think THJ has found a home in Dallas and he has become a ELITE shooter here. You can't pay the guy based on his Knicks years. His value is based on his current season and his value is at a all time high for him. I love how he has learned to limit his shots when he's way off and when he's hot, he lights it up. He's cold blooded too. He's a alpha shooter and we need that. We have other strong shooters, but they won't always pull the trigger. I'm sure most will want to sign him at 15 per, but that's not happening unless he drops off dramatically the rest of the season. It'd be 27.23 RE: Mavs Trade Discussion + Salary Chart - aguiar95 - 02-12-2020 Trade for Kelly Oubre (PHO) and find a way to extend him to 15-20M/year. He might be on the trade block this summer. Everyone is available except our duo. Find a way to keep three of Brunson/Curry/DFS/Maxi for our bench crew. A good big (maybe eith the MLE?) would come in great since our big man rotation is KP/Maxi/WCS (Not sure when DP comes back). Some that might fit the MLE: Saric (PHO), Baynes (PHO), Leonard (MIA), Olynyk (MIA), Noel (OKC), Poeltl (SAS). Going into the season, I thought there was no way he would consider opting out, but his play this year has at least made it a question. Teams have proven it is far from impossible to get rid of salary when necessary, so the MBT needs to maximize the draft picks we have along with the MLE to get players that can help, but that may also be assets to another team if we need to move them to fulfill that max cap space dream. If the Mavs can convince THJ to opt out and sign a smaller $/year deal for another 3-4 years, we then keep a player that has become valuable, but also make him more of an asset as well. Still unlikely to happen, at least at a dollar amount I would like. RE: Mavs Trade Discussion + Salary Chart - SleepingHero - 02-12-2020 (02-11-2020, 10:57 PM)DanSchwartzman Wrote: Now to Dallas...As you can see, he does talk about a path to bigger dollar players (if THJ doesn't take his PO). But, he then goes on to talk about it being more likely that Dallas is limited to the MLE. Hmm... I wonder how good of a shot the Mavs have with Anthony Davis. I mean if all we need to give up is THJ/Lee/Jackson to get the space for Davis, that should be really enticing on paper. I mean if you're Davis, who do you want to hitch your wagon to? 36 year old Lebron? Or Luka+KP and the incredibly deep team of the Mavs? Obviously it'd never happen because I think AD wants to be on the Lakers for more than basketball. But still, a guy can dream. Best thing about that is that it shows a willingness not to play the Plan Powder game for 2021. I also wonder if Gallo was in play. I am not sure Iggy was the other one though bc the Grizz got Winslow out of that deal which to me is higher value than the GSW 2nd. It would make sense that the Mavs would give up GSW if they had a similar extension to the one Miami did. The other guy I wonder ab is Gallo. Maybe they were closing in on him. RE: Mavs Trade Discussion + Salary Chart - BigDirk41 - 02-12-2020 The extension part sounds like Gallo because those were the reports about Miami also. RE: Mavs Trade Discussion + Salary Chart - jesusshuttlesworth82 - 02-12-2020 Plugging Gallo into this offense would be insane. And plugging him into the defense would be equally catastrophic. I would be very content if we found a way to SnT for Gallo (not getting him otherwise). I still think Gordon is more likely.
