He gets things done. Chicago is a shitty team yet he managd ti convince both Ball and DeRozan to come. I wouldn't call them shitty. I can think of a few other teams that are worse. They're going to score a lot of points that's for sure. If they can play any semblance of D from time to time, they could be dangerous. RE: 2021 FREE AGENCY: ATL offers JC 5 yr/$125M deal - Hypermav - 08-03-2021 Bullock and our 23 FRP back for Brunson. Lets do that! RE: 2021 FREE AGENCY: ATL offers JC 5 yr/$125M deal - HoosierDaddyKid - 08-03-2021 Looks like Schroder has priced himself out the market. He's going to have to accept way less than the 25 mil per yr he was asking for. Nobody has any money left. That was a dope fiend move. RE: 2021 FREE AGENCY: ATL offers JC 5 yr/$125M deal - ThisIStheYear - 08-03-2021 (08-03-2021, 05:38 PM)KillerLeft Wrote: Basically, this is how I see things: Expectations have changed now that the Mavs have acquired a potential top 5 all time player — a Jordan, Magic, Bird, Lebron level talent. Luka is a corporation, so far, the Mavs are running a nice lemonade stand, assuming the latest moves work out. On the one hand, maybe the Mavs have kicked the can down the road without making the big mistake, but they’ll have to come up with something splashy soon and show that they can pinch their weight (I mean Luka’s weight) or this will end badly. The walls and sacrifice bunts aren’t going to cut it. Wright was an attempt at that defensive guard that we've wanted. Curry has the shooting but isn't a wing sized defender. Let's not get overly enthusiastic here. Bullock is decent, he even led the league in 3 pt % when he was with Detroit a few years back, but he doesn't move the needle. Neither does either of the Brown's. Mavs needed to make a splash in free agency to show the rest of the top teams they are to be reckoned with. They didn't do that. RE: 2021 FREE AGENCY: ATL offers JC 5 yr/$125M deal - Jason Terry - 08-03-2021 Schroder, Dinwiddie, Oubre?, or Markkanen Fit one into the TPE after the Dragic trade RE: 2021 FREE AGENCY: ATL offers JC 5 yr/$125M deal - HoosierDaddyKid - 08-03-2021 Dinwiddie is signing with the Wizards. RE: 2021 FREE AGENCY: ATL offers JC 5 yr/$125M deal - jesusshuttlesworth82 - 08-03-2021 Wow I thought we had a C offseason assuming Dragic. Now even that is looking iffy. Mavs are allergic to guys that can dribble a basketball. RE: 2021 FREE AGENCY: ATL offers JC 5 yr/$125M deal - VintagePejav2 - 08-03-2021 Kawhi is listening folks.. listening! Mavs needed to make a splash in free agency to show the rest of the top teams they are to be reckoned with. They didn't do that. Let me correct myself...one of the best catch and shoot 3pt shooters. I'm not sure how to quantify "move the needle" or "splash". I think an additional wing who can defend and shoot 40% from 3 makes this team better. If we can also add a playmaker this offseason is better than, for example, adding DeRozan, who is a "splash" that creates more problems than he solves. RE: 2021 FREE AGENCY: ATL offers JC 5 yr/$125M deal - VintagePejav2 - 08-03-2021 Just an FYI: Reggie Bullock and Reggie Jackson did play together in Detroit. Also, our new assistant coach Sean Sweeney briefly coached Jackson in Detroit. Reggie Jackson is a 6-2 guard with a 7’ wingspan and shot >40% from 3 last season. Not sure how we make it happen, but I think this is Nico’s type. RE: 2021 FREE AGENCY: ATL offers JC 5 yr/$125M deal - BigDirk41 - 08-03-2021 I would love Reggie Jackson. I haven't heard any Mavs connections with him though. Don,'t know what's up with this site, but it won't let me hit reply to your post. I'm not saying he can't help. I'm saying he's just a good rotational wing or maybe he starts, I don't know. Maybe they'll get Dragic down the road but that's what they really need is a secondary ball handler when Luka is on the bench. The offense craters when he's out the game. I felt that should have been priority no 1. As far as DeRozan is concerned, outside the fact he would have cost you a boatload of $$ how would he have caused other problems outside of not shooting 3's ? He's one of the best mid-rangers in the game, and is better overall than Bullock. RE: 2021 FREE AGENCY: ATL offers JC 5 yr/$125M deal - Chicagojk - 08-03-2021 I am sure I will wind up disappointed (a Mavs tradition) but should Lauri Markkanen be the exact player we should target....especially if the Bulls don't have strong interest in resigning him. - He has been reported he would like to play with Luka, KP and the Mavs -He is friends with Luka, KP and Boban on Instagram and has liked recent posts from Luka (ok, I know this is a weak one) -He is a young, skilled player Sure the fit may not be great, but lets just add talent now. Lets try to figure it out later. Maybe him and Kp can't play together so you have to stagger most of their minutes. But maybe they can play together. I am not sure if we have anything Chicago would want, Or if we can get to the salary range for him. But if you have a young skilled player who has stated he would like to play for Dallas. Why not make it happen and see what he looks like with Luka Magic. Ok, with that being said I am sure he will sign with Minnesota or OKC soon. |
