The average recovery time for a torn ACL in professional athletes is typically 6 to 12 months, depending on the severity of the injury, the success of surgery, and the rehabilitation process.
• Return to sport: Many athletes start light training around 6 months, but full competition-level recovery often takes closer to 9-12 months to reduce the risk of re-injury.
• Rehabilitation milestones:
• 0-2 weeks: Reduce swelling, regain knee mobility
• 3-6 weeks: Strengthening exercises, light weight-bearing
• 3-6 months: Sport-specific training, agility drills
• 6-12 months: Gradual return to full activity
Some high-profile athletes have returned in as little as 6-9 months, but rushing the process increases the risk of re-tearing the ligament. Many teams follow a 9-month rule to ensure full recovery.
So, expected return around December? Tough!

Even if everyone else is healthy to start the season I don't know how they can survive given they have no backcourt. If they STILL go down this KD rabbit hole then we are going to be playing vet min point guards for a huge portion of the season.

Yeah I'm not seeing how next season can go much better than this one it Kyrie is out until December/January and he won't return as the player he was. That will take time.

You're probably right but there is a small part of me holding on to the fact that Kyrie is a freak about his body.

We already needed help with more playmaking but that's imperative now. Even then, the two most important guys in their 30s with significant injuries is not good. Really bad timing after you traded Luka for a win now player.

Does he have an opt in year now? Or is he a true free agent? He has no leverage injured. I believe he did 2 days ago.

Not much to be positive about as a Mavs fan at the moment. I'm personally going to take a break from it all. It's supposed to be fun and enjoyable to talk about things we're passionate about. I don't know that I can have any positive contributions to the board right now.

Yes, it looks like he has a player option. He'll probably take it.

Tim Cato sent out a tweet that Kyrie has played more minutes than anyone else in the NBA over the last 6 weeks. The optics of this are just so bad. I really am curious if Nico can keep his job through this. If I had any faith in ownership I would say no.
