Ghost’s post in the trade thread got me thinking about the new-philosophy Mavs and how the current roster is built. Makes me want to ask these questions:

1. Which team in the league is better equipped to match up against small ball than this Mavs fivesome, Kyrie, Luka, DJJ, PJ, Maxi? (I suspect the answer is no one, not even close). 

2. Will playoff teams even try to play small against these Mavs? (If I’m Denver or Minny, I sure as hell wouldn’t. Not even sure who would.)

What do my comrades think?

Going through the stats I noticed that PJW had a little better stats than I first imagined...7rbd, 3ast, 1stl, and 1 pt. Maybe he should be on this poll as well. But it also looks like he's playing tired right now. I think we have several back to backs coming up...don't we? I'll have to look. Seems like the Mavs let up on the gas a little bit in the 3rd quarter, but was pretty much able to coast into a win. Looking through the stats all I could see was a win by committee...which is great! Gafford also looked like he's playing tired. We've got to get these guys some rest!

I'm still going to give my Dirkie to Gafford. Kleber with notable play. Luka coming in third.

Yes, yes, yes...Luka with another triple double. I like it...but it's not above my expectations for him. It's the Luka curse.

There are a lot of noteworthy players today. PJW started slow but came on strong later. DJJ played some stiff defense. Gafford got into foul trouble, but still made his presence known. Kyrie "Mr. Clutch" Irving lived up to his name. Luka!...also made some great plays...not the least was in assisting Kyrie in his play. Kleber...is so important to the team...and he is rounding out great for the playoffs (if he stays healthy)--an elbow to the throat didn't help. Dante Exum--is somebody we can trust--he is so damn good.

I've got to give my Dirkie to Kyrie "Mr. Clutch" Irving. If it hadn't been for Kyrie, I think I would have considered Maxi Kleber.
