Now that the Cowboys game is done, my sports weekend officially stands at 2-2. 2 wins from TCU and the Cowboys, 2 losses from the Mavs and the Stars. Our boys have a chance to bring me out of the weekend ahead. Must win game.
Let's see if Kidd can out blunder McCarthy today.
The Stars gave up 3 goals during a 3 minute stretch in the final period, but otherwise played great.  Spooky!
Big early test for McGee.   Orlando is big.  Can he play a good 15-20 minutes.   Play hard and do the simple things well.

Orlando got their first win the other night.    They have a lot of people out, but hasn't mattered to the Mavs this year.
Mavs apparently with the same starting lineup for tonight's game against Orlando:

Luka
Dinwiddie
Bullock
DFS
Mcgee

SMH...Kidd has no perspective on anything
"rim protection" they said

possession two: easy pull-up in McGee's face, because drop coverage.

possession 4: McGee not even matched up with Bol because he was too slow in transition to avoid a cross match. Result: offensive rebound and put back
McGee gives up an easy corner three with a slooooow, lazy close out

Please use this timeout to end my suffering, Coach Kidd.
5-out against a slow defense with a dinosaur in the paint. It´s almost like the Mavs forgot how they beat Jazz and Suns last year because other teams are doing the exact same thing against them.
Wembanyama here we come.

WITH THE SAME PLAYER, NO LESS

McGee pulled immediately, thank God. Kidd might not be totally insane.

Immediately, they draw a foul and then get a defensive stop.
You need to shoot on that drive, Dorian.
That's ok, Wood - KEEP FEEDING HIM!
DFS plays like he just got paid...
GREAT RIM PROTECTION FROM CENTER, CHRISTIAN WOOD
Good ball movement.
Good, unselfish ball movement there.
That last play, I'm glad Bullock made the 3, but Wood was WIDE open to take it for the Luka assist.

If Maxi hit the deck earlier, we would have had possession
THJ and Green are playing better perimeter D than DFS and Bullock this season.
Josh Green needs to work out, because he adds a dimension (speed, for lack of a more nuanced descriptor) that flatly doesn't exist on this team without him.

Kleber rolls, while Wood spaces...you know, because they can BOTH do EITHER.

THAT, kids, is FLEXIBILITY.

Luka is straight up yelling at his teammates. That's new, I think. I wonder if it will have the effect he's going for. I hope it does.
