I mean really? Harden is almost a perfect fit next to Embiid. The only thing is if he's healthy and if he can actually defend.

Philly looking incredibly scary now.
Doc: "Maxey, you have been great this year.  Now, go stand in the corner"Smile

So we can trade past picks?  Can we trade the Dennis Smith pick?  Smile
Ben Simmons:  Hi doc.
Therapist:  Who is this?
BS:  It's Ben.
Therapist:  Who?
BS:  Ben Simmons.
Therapist:  Oh.

Seth is such an incredible shooter.

Harden is 32 and will ask for a contract in the 250m range. If they don´t win it all in the next two years they have a problem.
all I ask now is a Philly/Brooklyn playoff series.

He's no Josh Richardson, that's for sure.

That's a good point. I agree he'll be pricey. But as long as he's healthy Harden is a perfect fit. It's not like his game relies on athleticism. He's a lethal shooter and fantastic distributor. Its up to Embiid to carry anyways.
Harden and Phlly Cheesesteaks are going to be a problem.

It's all worth it for Philly if they get the ring. High pressure situation like the Kawhi Raptors though, but they had to do something not to waste this season by Embiid
Harden is obviously far better player than Simmons. One wonders how long Philly window was anyway due to Embiid injury concerns. Curry is phenomenal shooter but also defensive liability. They still have plenty of shooting on the bench with Korkmaz, Niang and Green. Now all NBA has to do is direct a Philly-Nets conference finals and ratings will be through the roof.

Harden/Embiid might work.

Embiid isn't really a pnr big, and we've never seen Harden play with anything else, but it could work. Especially if Harden understands and is excited about coming to support Embiid (not sure I'd put much faith it that).

I think you're probably predisposed to disliking the return for BRK a little because you aren't a Simmons guy. I would literally rather have Simmons than Harden straight up, as long as I already have a star scorer in place. That's probably the beginning of the divergence.

But, it seems clear to me that the Thybulle/Maxey stuff was all leaked by Morey to A) make it seem like he was playing hardball and drum up better offers (that he could then throw back in BRK's face) and B) make it seem to Philly's community that he was able to "win" the trade. Those who've been really paying attention have been hearing for days that Simmons/Curry was the package BRK wanted - no mention from them of either of those two young guys (who they have no means to develop anyway).

I'm flabbergasted they got TWO 1sts out of a deal that included Simmons and Curry and was for a guy everyone on Earth knows was going to bail on them over the summer. AND, everyone knows that Harden wasn't happy in BRK and that it was about to be an ugly, depressing end of the season for them. I think Marks just made Morey his bitch, personally. Morey must REALLY love him some Harden.

You know my initial reaction might have been off base. After reading your break down I'm more starting to see BRK walking away as absolute winners. I still think they should've gotten at least 1 of Maxey/Thybulle, but getting 2 firsts for a guy that was 100% going to walk is a win.

But you're right, we diverge completely on the Harden vs. Simmons stuff. In any case I hope we get a playoff series between the two that ends with the Nets sweeping Philly because how hilarious would that be.
