I know it’s just one game, but I wonder if we should start pumping all the brakes on trading Gafford talk. De Larrea will find him for lobs.

Good point, Gafford needs this kind of PG... After Luka trade he was almost unplayable.

I would hold off on any strong reactions to Nembhard's poor two games.   The one thing I am confident in is he can run a team and get teammates good looks.  It is what he does.  I think his trajectory is to eventually be a backup point guard who keeps the ship from sinking when he is on the floor.   I am not sure he is ready for that at this stage yet.   I think a guy like Collin Gillepsie is the blueprint.   Good college player, smaller, undrafted, bounce around for a few years, eventually hit.

I do think there is a likelihood he may not be in the new front office vision moving forward.  We will see.  I believe he checks a lot of their marks.   Although , I think they view size and positional flexibility as important values.   I also think they want a team where 4 (or 5) guys can handle the ball on the court instead of one guy running an offense.    If so, Ryan is probably not their cup of tea.   Right now he is really not best served to play off the ball due to his size and streaky shot.   His success is built on getting others shots, good bball IQ, and low turnovers.

I think your second paragraph is on the nose.  I don't think he fits what they are looking for.

Quote: "I want us to be the best passing team in the NBA," the coach said. "I want us to play with a top-five pace and effort to get it up the floor quickly before the defense gets set..."

Not sure how Nembhard fits into that vision. He is one of the most ball dominant players in the league and slows down the offense.

Exactly! May wants to play fast and Nembhard is slow. He doesn’t fit so say goodbye.

I wonder if my comments about Nembhard last year were just gratuitous negativity, or if they were a realistic assessment—now that everyone is saying the same thing... Funny.

If you are negative about everything you are bound to be right some of the time.

I was out on Nembhard before everyone else thought it was cool.

No. I’m an ACC alum. I know more about Boozer than most.

I will say if he has a directive from May to speed up the pace no matter what, I'm curious to see how he'd look. Especially around Morez/Lively/ and more shooting.

But if he can't play a fast tempo, it'll be hard to justify giving him the ball for 18 seconds of every possession.

It’s impossible to play fast AND dribble.

I agree.

It's also impossible to play medium and rebound.

Your troll game is improving. Take away the three question marks and I'd have sworn DallasMaverick wrote this. Well done.

While watching the Memphis game, I asked myself how many regular season starters were playing for Memphis? Boozer? Coward? Is Prosper in their rotation?

Don't think the Mavs were playing any starters. Sergio might be in the rotation, at least I hope so.

Memphis is so bad that 2 or 3 of those guys will be starters for them...

I mean, they did finish the season using 2-ways and 10-days.

And have shed talent since then.
