Ugly game and despite all the losing recently, one of the few games that was really difficult to watch. So many things wrong. Not a lot to like for building anything.

I want to give all the new guys time to make a conclusion. At least last night, I thought Middleton and Bagley were more impactful than Gafford and Pj. That needs to change asap. Getting both playing to their ability is goal #2 (after coop). Either to be here or via trade. Both need to play much better.

Gafford and Washington are under contract another three years and the worse they play right now the more pleasant those next three years will be for them. 

I know "players don´t tank" is a popular saying around here, but please. These guys obviously know what the franchise directive is. Just selflishly thinking they will play for much higher stakes for the next three years, if the Mavs get another superstar in the draft.

Jones, Middleton, Bagley and AJ Johnson on the other hand play for another contract, even to stay in the league. That´s completely different levels of motivation.

I was thinking the same thing that guys who want to stay and win the next few years are playing like crap right now to tank since they are very aware they need help and also they need to make other teams think they are crap as well so the Mavs cannot trade them.
