Free agent F Caleb Martin is finalizing a deal with the Philadelphia 76ers, sources tell ESPN. Impactful pickup for the Sixers, who bring on the playoff-tested veteran from Miami.

So Martin turned down 5 years 65 M from Heat, and then a week later settled for what ESPN said is 4 years topping 32 M from 76ers. Martin rep thought Heat offer wasn't good enough, which dumbfounded Heat.

This Heat/Martin negotiation last weekend was quite (shall we say) intense, per 2 sources. Martin camp thought Heat was trying to force him to take what Martin rep thought was below market deal and made that clear. Heat thought this was very good offer (it was) and made that very clear

Caleb Martin turned down a 4/58 extension from the Heat because he thought that he could get 15+ million as a free agent. Add his 24/25 salary and it would have been a 5/65 deal. Nerlens Noel would be proud.

Ill-regardless what he signed for, he's a good add for the Sixers. He played a big role on the Heat.

I am really looking forward to see how Philly made all these signings (Drummond, Oubre, Martin). I read they hade the cap space MLE (roughly 8 mil) and some 6 mil of cap space left after signing George. Those three guys mentioned signed for roughly 21 mil combined.

Not sure. Does releasing Paul Reed and his non guaranteed contract help? I read on Sixers boards they are expecting they resign KJ Martin for a balloon contract that is not guaranteed past year one and a guy they can move at the deadline with picks. Some where saying Lauri. Morey is always really creative on this stuff. He will probably look to move 10 players next offseason...but he is creative.
