When the Mavs and the Pelicans play, there is a good chance they let some fans play in the game.

Also the Pelicans need to be trolling Zion. He is out of a game because of conditioning? LOL

Kyrie is doubtful too. I may need to skip the Murray vs Dinwiddie hold the ball challenge tonight.

We so need a win. In fact we need 5 survival wins in this next stretch.

Next 6 games, at Pels, vs Thunder, at Hornets, vs T-Wolves, at Thunder, vs Celtics. Tough stretch...

Hopefully the Mavs can beat the T-Wolves and go 3 and 3.

how many OKC Thunder players need to be out tonight for you to have any confidence in Dallas winning?
All I ask, give Omax 30 minutes tonight. It is probably a lost cause to win, but I just don't know if I can take seeing Maxi run around there again. I will probably skip tonight's game though.

OKC would have to dress 4 players for the Mavs to beat them. This is a guaranteed loss.

from reddit. I guess Nico did a podcast while in New Orleans
The 300 character title limit forced me to trim it a bit, but Nico’s full answer is below:
On Klay:
“I honestly think that he’s probably a guy who’s harder on himself than we ever would be. I’m super thrilled about him being on our roster. I think it’s been amazing. I think it’s only going to get better when we’re healthy.
I think you’ve been able to get a glimpse into what it’s going to look like. He’s built to win. He’s won where he’s been at. He’s not scared of the moment. So imagine putting that in when you’re trying to win at the highest level.”
This is from an interview Nico did for the Mavs Step Back podcast when they were in New Orleans. I think it may still be limited to subscribers so I definitely want to respect that and not share the whole transcript in this post, but did want to add this other Q&A:
On Mavs injury woes and if he considered visiting a voodoo doctor while in New Orleans to potentially help out:
“Well, I wish you would have brought that idea up early, because I’ll try anything. Obviously, it’s been frustrating. We really do like our team. I’m an optimistic person, so I try to look at the silver lining. It’s better to be injured now and not be injured in the playoffs. So if you’re injured now, chances are you’re going to be healthy when it really matters. So that’s kind of what we’re hanging our hat on.
The other positives, a lot of young guys are getting playing time, which full healthy roster they’re not. So I just look at that in terms of once we are healthy, we’re going to be better.”

Jason Kidd says Danté Exum has been shooting, but he's "still a ways away" before having an established timetable for a return to competition.

Kidd is one of the few coaches I just can never understand. There feels like there is zero structure or system in place. No set goal. No real coaching. Just over reliance on two of the greatest scorers the game has ever seen to create everything and anything.
Case in point, here is a video: https://v.redd.it/5yme0bpwa8ee1
3 mins long and showcases the last 3 games, just how many times Klay has been flat out ignored in the offense. He is legit one of the greatest shooters of all time and we have Dinwiddie electing to take it 1 on 3 for a prayer versus passing it to the corner. Why is PJ getting the pass for the 3 versus Klay? And once in a while if understand, but the entire year Kidd has failed to truly integrate Klay in the offense and truly use his gravity.
It feels like only Luka can find Klay consistently, and that’s just because he’s an otherworldly passer. Which tells me Kidds offense has no structure. Guys don’t know where guys will be, unless you create your own looks, like Luka.
It’s horrible. It infuriates me, because that’s how this team loses games against the Hornets (why Kidd allowed this team to continue chucking 3s without touching the paint the entire game is beyond me), Pelicans (Dinwiddie Hero Ball), and Blazers.
A better coach would have this team close to the top of the standings. And yet, for whatever reason, Kidd finds a way in the playoffs. Jekyll and Hyde. Infuriating man.

I feel your pain! I definitely have a love/hate relationship with Kidd. Absolutely hate his offense and absolute hate his regular season coaching if you can call it that. Yet the players seem to like playing for him and you can’t argue with his post-season success. Right now the Mavs are hard to watch. Because of injuries there has been no continuity and integration of new players. Sometimes Marshall/Grimes/Klay seem to have turned a corner then a few games later play like they haven’t got a clue as to what’s going on. That’s on Kidd. Having Luka out an extended period not only highlights the weaknesses of other players it amplifies Kidd’s lack of offensive strategy as well. I’ll been complaining and wanting to see an offensive coordinator type coach added to this staff but it’s yet to happen. Maybe new ownership sees what we see and will hire an offensive coaching Guru in the offseason. Until then all we can do is complain or just turn off the TV, at least until the post-season assuming Luka and the rest of the team is healthy.
One last thought….this team if healthy can/will beat anyone in the West with the possible exception of OKC. The Thunder right now are just playing at a level where its hard to see anyone truly challenging them in the West. But I guarantee NO ONE wants to play a healthy Mavs team in a 7 game series even OKC.

Mavs just released the injury report for the Minnesota-game.
Marshall and Thompson now also questionable in addition to Lively and Grimes. Luka, Hardy, Powell and Exum all out.

I think there is a great chance that we will never see this team fully healthy. This isn’t just bad luck. There must be some severe problems behind the scenes with the training staff / players being not ready physically due to whatever reasons (poor preparation or just age-related stuff)
All we need is a Kyrie ankle sprain for 2-3 weeks and this season is over. Zero way of replacing all that fire power.
At this point they have to work the FA market. They desperately need another guard who can run a halfcourt set or at least provide a scoring boost.
