I am thinking about this and trying to predict who is most likely to get to all star level next to join our 2 current all stars so that we have 3. I am really thinking hard about this and so far I think that there are several guys who could break out and do that.
Morez and Santi are going to be toying with that level of success if they can start the season healthy enough and not go down the path of getting injured all the time. Santi is especially ready. Morez has us all wanting him to do it but then he has to actually prove that he can do that or its a lot of guys saying told you so, why no Burieds.
Risacher can do it if he just develops the ability to hit his 3 ball as well in the first half of the season as he shoots it after the all star game and they give him the okay to let it fly.
Tarik if he shoots like he did in Europe is another guy that could break out and make everyone go where the hell did he come from.
PJ if he takes it to another level in his prime I would not be that surprised he needs to take himself to task and just force himself to get to that level.
NAJI correcting his 3 pointer takes him into territory were he is unstoppable so that is what we need to see from him but will we?
MAX just get the confidence already go visit a nudist colony guy and shake your money maker in public that will help you grow some confidence and it will change your life forever in fact every member of this team would be a better ball player if he followed this advice grow some balls and just do it.

Not only has Flagg grown over an inch in the last year, he has gained over 20 pounds over the last year.

That means in 4 years he very well be 7'6 and 350 pounds.

A lot of these guys want max money. Perhaps all. Problem is, they're not all max money players. Some can get away with it. Those that can't get away with it need some sort of reality check without getting their feelings hurt. Duren has a lot of player development to go through before he even sniffs max money range. $200M is ridiculous, to me, for his level. However, it might be the going rate.

IMO, the reality of the 2nd Apron penalties has quickly changed the definition of who is a "max money" player. When good teams, like OKC and BOS are trading away starter-level players for salary cap reasons, then they also have to take a hard look at how to apportion the $$ in the future. This has significantly altered free agency so that it is not the leverage it once was. Large contracts aren't going to be handed out like candy anymore. It feels like there are more incentive driven contracts than there used to be.
Unless you are a Curry, LeBron or Luka type talent, then getting a max contract will be harder. Even then guys like these will have a "sell by" date. LBJ is playing for peanuts while chasing one last ring. Luka is up for a super max, but will LAL's actually pay it/ (Maybe, because they are LA and have no other stars now). Curry is still getting paid because he's still an all world scoring talent, but it helps that there is 17 years of history there (and 4 titles).
The problem is some of the players and their agents haven't yet gotten the memo.

Mike Curtis asked PJ Washington if he still cared about starting/coming off the bench as he enters Year 8: “My biggest thing is winning, whether I’m starting or not. I’ve been on so many losing teams. I’ve been to the playoffs one time in my career…I just want to turn that around & get to the playoffs & just win.”

Great answer.
It has to have been a drag for him these past couple of years. He lands in Dallas after the futility in Charlotte and that "one time" he goes to the playoffs, he gets all the way to the finals. Then, right back to Charlotte style seasons immediately after. It must be demoralizing.

Marc Stein: Moussa Cisse’s 2026-27 salary ($2.2 million) is now fully guaranteed after Oct. 1 came and went. The Mavericks fly to Macao this weekend for their two preseason games against Houston, with a maximum 15 standard contracts and Dwight Powell still hoping to earn a roster spot.

P.J. Washington Jr. was the hero of the 2024 Western Conference Semifinals. Since then, he has faced hardship, both on and off the court. But Washington has found peace playing for his hometown team — and getting tattoos. Washington was put under anesthesia three times over the summer as Ganga, a tattoo artist, and another artist made some of his biggest memories in Dallas permanent on his body. The 6-foot-8 forward had his entire back tattooed and finished his leg pieces. “It was a quick process,” Washington said. “I went in, got the sketches done, they put me to sleep, and I woke up, and now we’re here. So, I mean, it’s the easiest way to get tattoos.”

While it's generally safe with the proper medical supervision, I can't imagine the NBA medical staffs are all warm and fuzzy about their players going under anasthesia with third-party doctors. I know players get all sorts of medical advice outside the system, so I really have no idea about how that works for players inside the NBA. But general anathesia has some risk.

My nephew is the managing senior anesthesiologist at a group out of San Antonio. I asked him about this. It takes 12 to 15 years, tests to become an MD or DO, then tests from the ASA. Unless the technician is board certified he would be very leary. Propofol is a wonderful thing, but as Michael Jackson can attest, it's not idiot proof. This would have to be a high end tattoo parlor...

Holy geez, DeLarea and Biberovic are both taller than PJW.
I think I've got my hopes up more for Biberovic than anyone else on this team.

Risacher looks taller than I expected. Morez is a bit shorter. Boy, if Larry could hit, we'd be in so much better of a position longer term.

My wife is an anesthesiologist. I am sure she would be very leary and would advise against as well.

Yeah, I am pretty surprised Morez looks visably shorter than Gafford. Aldama is taller and Powell looks like he has grown .
I agree about Larry. I am not sure if he gets a lot of minutes early, but it will be interesting to see his development. I don't think he is a #1 ball handler, but a guy who can fit a role and play with other creators and make smart decisions. If he could eventually fill that role, it opens a lot of opportunities in the future.
Why does Marshall look fat? Ha.

Propofol needs constant respiration monitoring. I cannot imagine a tattoo parlor having the necessary equipment to make sure Washington doesn't stop breathing in case of an emergency.
