with you here, though he wouldn't be getting guard minutes

nah, on this one...although, the DFS role is more like what he'll be aiming for I think

I caught the end of the game last night in which the legends lost.   Carlik didn't play (second game in a row but was on the bench).   The Legends had a good sized lead but lost it in the fourth quarter and then wound up losing in overtime.

a few thoughts:

-They play in a really nice arena.  is it new?  Is it just for the legends?   I believe it is in Frisco.  Near Jerry world?

- In the G League with more than 2 minutes remaining, you get one free throw for two points.   Under two minutes, you get both free throws.

-Eugene had a solid stat line but missed a free throw (worth two points) when they were up 5 or so points with just a little over two minutes left.   Then with the game in question late in regulation got the ball and made a great pump fake to take an open 5-8 foot shot that would have sealed the game which he missed.   Everything was perfect except the finish.

-The ignite team has a 17 year old kid, Scoot Henderson, who signed a two year deal with the G-league.  Supposedly he is the next big time US player.    He scored 31 points last night.

Texas Legends lost again last night.  Carlik Jones only played 5 minutes (injury?).  Eugene didn't play.  I thought it would have been a good chance to let Josh Green play.   He needs minutes.  The game was in Frisco.

Feron Hunt with another good game.  He may have a real solid chance of getting a two way contract next year.  He needs to firm up his game a lot, but you can see glimpses of a guy who may make it to the NBA some day.

here are the highlights from the past two games

Glad to see Feron doing well.  I was super pump when we signed him if nothing else, for his athleticism.  It's something our roster really lacks at this point.

Is anyone watched Sioux Falls Skyforce?

Martin Krampelj, Slovenian Center is putting good numbers there, and if someone watched their games, can someone tell what can we expect from him in the future?

Never really paid attention to the lower league. But draft picks? I thought rosters from the G-League are direct hires and 2-way contracts sent over there.
Didn't know they have a draft.

Carlik Jones dropped 40 and 10 assists last night for the Legends.  Giving him the last 2 way spot seems like the most likely result.

He looked terrible in the few minutes he played on his 10 day contract. He looked timid and lost.

Not the same guy we see in that video.  Is there anyone else out there with more upside? We already have Pinson on a two way, and he is what he is at this point.

Yes, he didn't look good, but it is tough to make judgements for a young player getting his first real run.  I was not a fan in the summer league, but thought he looked very impressive in preseason.

Long term, I am not sure he fits what Kidd wants.  Is he ever going to be better then Burke.  Plus he is an older rookie.

But I would want to get a closer look at him for the rest of the year and in summer league this summer.  I think with his play in the G-league that he deserves a two way spot somewhere.    But this is a business...if the Mavs view someone higher...so be it.

Carlik Jones named player of the week in the G-league

Also, EJ Onu who was with the team in preseason is not longer with the Legends.   He signed with the Memphis Hustle.  He wasn't getting playing time so maybe it was a mutual decision?

He looked like a small fish in a big pond during his 10-day. Glad to see he's still putting up numbers in the G-league. He could be a viable candidate for a 2-way since we have a lone spot.

Not sure why the Mavs didn´t use the last two-way spot on one of the g-league guys. For example Feron Hunt. Averaging 19/9/2 on 57/35/75 splits.
In the last four games he dropped:
28pts 16reb
18pts 13reb 4ast
25pts 10reb 2ast
32pts 8reb 2ast

Yeah he has been a bright spot.   G league stats are tough to judge and there are a lot of empty stats.  Still for a guy who average 10-11 points for his college team, it is really nice to see him putting up consistent numbers lately.    For me, he was more interesting than Carlik Jones.    Jones has put up good numbers too though.

I hope we sign him next season.  He's a special athlete.  I think his floor is Derrick Jones Jr.

Feron Hunt picked up by the Knicks on a 10-day contract. Too bad...I thought we could hide him in the G-League this season and then give him a chance in summer league/training camp again to make the roster in 2022-23. But looks like other teams have eyes on him too

take G-league stats with a Grain of salt, but Moses Wright put up 36 and 11 last game.   Looks to have a pretty smooth jumper.

I really hope we can get him and Eugene on our summer league this offseason.  Both are at least intriguing being bigger guys with some interesting skillsets.
