Could have used Frank when the game was still within reach. How much longer will Bullock and THJ get the nod over the young guys. Frank and Brown aren´t shooting worse. Green and Frank are more versatile and can pass.

It always comes down to shooting not pace.  Mavs make their average threes, they are fine.  Luka plays an average game for him, they are fine. (Luka missed more Luka shots around the rim than I can remember)

In the past Tim would put us on his back for a few games but he cannot find that groove.

Plus the fact the Mavs dragged themselves around the court with low energy, if that is the pace JB is talking about, then I would agree with him there.

Ugly loss.

What’s really uncertain is the reason they’re telling us he’s out. Before going into health and safety protocols he had a “rest” game. Was the sickness just a ruse to detract from an injury? Lucky that he got sick after being injured? Something doesn’t add up to me here.

I mean, there have been times that I’ve felt it was all a way for the coaches to work with the other guys without Luka/KP getting in the way as a tandem. Giving them all confidence that they can do stuff too. Either that or showing Luka/KP that they are capable as they sit on the bench watching. Basically saying to them, “See, if you can trust them to do stuff, they are capable”.

Hollinger's All-Hardship Team:

Marquese Chriss, Dallas — Marquese Chriss never really should have been out of the league, but he had a season-ending broken leg in 2020-21; the omicron wave gave him a perfect opportunity to get back in the mix. In 10 games with Dallas, he’s already moved into the Mavs regular big man rotation — he scored 13 points in 13 minutes against Milwaukee and 15 in 14 minutes against Oklahoma City and is shooting 57.8 percent from the floor. The Mavs figure to make other roster moves to be able to keep him once his current hardship deal expires, likely by waiving or trading Willie Cauley-Stein.

Man, that's such a refreshing change from years past when it seems like every game involved some random player going off. Even when the overall wins are up and down, it's encouraging to see evidence of clear progress like that.

It got so bad I was wondering who was the random scrub who was going to torch us each game for several years...half the time I either knew very little about the player or virtually nothing at all but marveled how we made them look like an all-star for that night...
