I hope Luka wins a title, but I can´t watch him anymore. Didn´t watch a single minute of Pelicans or Grizzlies either. This team is dead, until Nico is fired and replaced by somebody highly capable that can restore some faith within the fanbase. Just firing Nico to replace him with Finley will do nothing for the Mavs. This franchise needs a highly functioning GM, since there are no checks and balances in place with Dumbont and Cuban (part) owning the team.

We'll never get a decent PG as long a Nico is here.
He let Brunson go for nothing and traded Luka and Wallace for bigs.
The guy has an enormous hate for PGs even though his coach is a HOFer PG.
Good frickin grief!!!

I just hope the #1 2026 pick was included in the Luka deal.

Kidd getting another contract extension was a masterful move. You have to give him credit. He’s stealing money.
It has to start with Nico. You have to let new GM (coming sooner or later) choose his own coach. Big question for me is, do the owners care enough to pay (big) for a competent GM and then pay big to let Kidd and his new shiny extension go and hire a new coach.

I'm hoping they can find a non-obnoxious (i.e., obnoxious would be having to attach a second) trade for one of them - preferably one of the younger two - to at least be able to retain BWill. Powell still has some value as a locker room presence, at least. I used to be one of the biggest OMax fans here, but I have to concede he isn't an NBA player. Sad.

His agent gets kudos as well. Secure the bag now, because nobody knows what the future holds.

Kidd, no matter what other flaws he has, has got his teams to play hard. This is the first time it’s not happening. Getting rid of him is not changing the fact that the GM brought in Klay and Russ, let Brunson walk, gave away Grines and made his bed with older injury prone players. If he had traded Luka for Cade or Scotty Barnes or Buzelis or someone young at least there is a chance you could understand his vision. Nico has no real vision. As someone wrote a while ago here, it was only about getting players he had a connection with to come here whether it made sense or not. Every single fan and player in the league thinking the original news was a hack shows how historically terrible that trade was and everyone, other than Nico, knew it immediately.
Also I will say this again. We have to sell high on our centers. They can both be good but one is injury prone and will never take the next step offensively to keep defenses somewhat honest, while the other is a superb lob threat guy and a warrior but you saw with players like Kai Jones, that there are alternatives out there. This is the time to sell high and hoard picks. This team isn’t going anywhere. However again, it would need a competent GM and Nico is not that.

After they traded Luka, National basketball guys and most of us here thought, so your plan for creation rests on Kyrie and........ It didn't make sense. Even Kyrie is not best served as a table setter. We all thought they would look to add a move to get one at the trade deadline. Only to be told that they thought the roster was ready for contention.
Maybe I am giving Kidd too much credit, but he can't see this roster and know what it is missing, right? It makes no sense.
Why do you think Kidd was trying to get the heck out of here in the off season?

Hot take. I think nembhard is the best point guard currently on the roster. His first two appearances this year were pretty bad, but he does things that this team desperately needs. His defense is going to be an issue, but honestly I am not sure it is worse than the other guards.

Mark, you are on the boat with Harrison, Kidd and Dumont. I'm sorry.
And stop laughing. It's not funny.

Well, I'll say this: the "Fire Nico" crowd has mobilized beyond the scope of this community again, finally. I didn't see that coming after he survived the summer, but the Mavs' pathetic start has casual fans wanting their pound of flesh again, it seems. Maybe there's hope of something changing, after all.
Just sucks that it took this level of disappointment, and that the disappointment will likely have to continue/increase for anything to actually happen.

Hey, as sick as we all are of Cuban, those who want Harrison gone should be welcoming appearances like this. He's the most credible, noticeable Mavs adjacent entity even acknowledging the situation. It's a reason to hope for all those who can't find a way to move forward without Harrison paying the price.

His shit eating grin as he opines about the trade.
It's hilariously tone deaf.

Nico Harrison job security is under question, per @BannedMacMahon (Tim MacMahon)
"I don't have a firm answer for you right now. That's as much as I can tell you. But it is absolutely a legitimate question. When you talk to people about the Mavericks around the league, it is the first question that people are asking."

Bobby Karralla floating the idea that there is momentum growing into actually firing Nico.
