The article mentions how Cuban gets involved with things that causes a lot of frustration. I am sure Fin and Ricardi don’t like seeing Cuban talk g about roster decision to the media.
Exactly. Just when Cuban seems smart, he opens his mouth and blows his cover. A Cuban/Dumont combo may be the worst in the NBA.

Cuban isn't an idiot. This is just a counter narrative to the McMahon and Shams reports. Feels like Cuban volunteered to go to The Athletic and put something out about how the Mavs value AD and want to win. It means absolutely nothing. They might trade him in 3 weeks, or at the trade deadline, or never. Either way, there's nothing good about a singular narrative that the Mavs want to trade AD.
GMs aren't idiots either. AD didn't just bottom out because he's 32 year old and strained a calf. This is a 25 and 12 big who still plays some of the best interior defense in the league. But there's not a team in the league that can sell an AD trade to their fanbase unless he is on the court and productive.
Cuban is right to say they're not trading AD and want to win. If AD comes back and plays like we all know he can that will go a long way to restoring his value. But that doesn't mean they won't trade him if/when the right offer comes along. I'm not interested in a fire sale return.

One trade proposal I’ve seen that would make sense would be sending him to Toronto for Barret, Poetl and waltker and 2 firsts. Doesn’t excite me at all but the Raptors are a decent team and could use a guy like AD at the 5.

i Hope Finley and company get rid of all the vets and do some even swaps for young talent at the center and point guard positions. If you can somehow pick up a young two guard with great defense thats a big plus i think. The only downside is taking on some bad contracts i think. Theres some good young guys out there to be had too.

isaiah collier would be nice running the point guard position in dallas i think in kidds offense.
Bilal Coulibaly is another guy id love to see the mavs pursue in a trade. I think he would be perfect in kidds offense he's long and athletic.
Sion,James the two guard is another young player i'd love to see in a mavs uniform for years to come.
and last but not least my mavs dream trade would be the jewish man who plays alot l like manu. Deni Avdija

Man, that Poetl contract is terrible and Barrett is not a great fit. I feel like they need to get the 27 back from Charlotte or get a player that will make a difference (like Coby White although I am starting to think there is not much chance of that).

Yeah, but the AD contract is terrible. Barrett could be rerouted in another trade. I just don't see why Charlotte would trade us the 27 back since we are likely a lottery team next year too. We're just not gonna get much value from AD.

I mean if Atlanta wants to send us that NOP pick for AD...think we'd have to take Porzingis back, just let him launch 3's all game.

How about sending AD to Charlotte for Kon Knueppel and the Mavs pick back? I really like Kon's style of play at SG, and he was teammates with Coop at Duke.
The Hornets will want to see what they have in Kon, so probably won't. You never know though. The new owners might be willing to do it for a big name like Anthony Davis.
The trade could look something like this.
- Hornets get: Davis, Naji (or Christie).
- Mavs get: Knueppel, Sexton (or Connaughton), Josh Green, Grant Williams, 2027 Mavs pick.
Mavs will need to waive 2 players: Exum and Powell are expiring or D'lo.
Hornets roster:
1-5: Lamelo, Sion, Miller, AD, Kalkbrenner
6-10: Mann, Reeves/Connaughton, Naji, Bridges, Plumlee/Diabate
Mavs roster:
1-5: Kyrie, Kon, Coop, PJW, Lively
6-10: Sexton/BWill, Christie, JGreen, GWill, Gafford
+ 2026 Mavs pick
+ 2027 Mavs pick
Question: Would you still do this trade if the Hornets did not attach the 2027 Mavs pick?
(I probably would, because I'm all about that "yute" movement.)

We've spent a lot of time on Detroit, but I could see Atlanta being very interested if we could just see two weeks of health from AD. A season ending injury from KP wouldn't hurt. That knee is always going to be a problem and they have to commit money to him this summer (or, he could leave with no return). I think I could talk myself into AD, Johnson, NAW, Daniels and Trae if I were them.
Keep it simple...KP/Risacher for AD/Powell. Gets us under the first apron. Keeps Atlanta $800k under it.
Yes, he's a former number one, but Risacher is just a good piece. He's not an alpha creator, but he looks like a really good play finisher who fits the modern NBA well. Flagg, Risacher, Lively and Christie make up the beginnings of a good young core. Tank and draft an elite guard and this could be fun again.

I really don't think AD has this kind of value. At this point I would be happy getting Coby White and salary filler.

I’m not sure his value is as low as some people think if we can just get him healthy. Before the injury he was averaging 25/12/3 and 3 stocks. Only other guys with numbers close to that are Jokic, Wemby, Sengun. If he can be healthy, which I know he hasn’t been, he has value.

Anything is better than this NICO Harrison/Jason Kidd Roster. I hope the mavs Hire Dirk in the off-season and go after Barea to be next Dallas Mavericks Head Coach.
Dirk said he's not interested, but i think if you hire a guy like Valde Divac to be GM who knows Rick Adelmans offense and Pat Riley's OFFENSE than i think that would be a great fit for Barea and his coaching style i think it would be an Absolute FIT FOR Patrick Dumont.

Dirk would make no sense in that kind of role and you want to hire the guy that passed on Luka to draft Bagley?

He is a top 20 player when healthy, but he is an older player with health issues on a massive contract and teams have been a lot more cautious with that since the latest CBA. A 20 year old number one pick has massive value, even if he doesn't have the upside of most number one picks. I think a trade with Atlanta is more likely to include Trae Young than Risacher.
