I am getting to the point that I hope they find a taker for him at the deadline. Even if it was for a few seconds and clearing out the salary.
I am just wondering if Max plus a guy like Hardy (but with more creatition and defense) is the fit. A guy who can provide offense off the bench. Maybe that is Klay, but the flow in the offense is not one where he can excel at the moment. And the rest of his game is pretty limited.
I never thought he was a great fit because of the necessity to put him in the starting lineup. He would have been great as a Timmy replacement, but that was never an option. I think a Kyrie/Klay backcourt puts a ceiling on how good this team can be defensively.

Maybe things will change once Kyrie is back but for now, the Mavs are irrelevant. They really need to reshuffle the roster for me to have any interest in this team. The style of play is awful. They're putting Flagg in a terrible situation playing him out of position. AD is good but he's not really a guy you tune in for. I can't even be bothered to pay $15 a month for MavsTV just to piss myself off watching the games.
All offseason people talked about how the Mavs needed to be patient and not make any trades. I thought maybe I was the crazy one. Nope.

I'm not going to tell others how they should feel, but I'm personally over it and ready to move on. I do feel strongly that AD will never be fully embraced here. It's impossible IMO. Had the Mavs traded anyone other than Luka for a top 15 player in the NBA, I think the appreciation for what he brings would be 10x. Until Flagg becomes must see TV, I think we'll be stuck in a rut as a fanbase, and the trolls will keep at it...
I’m not over the trade but genuinely would like to see the Mavs do well. That’s why I rooted for them to lose last season so they could maybe get a high draft pick. I see the reality that the cupboard is otherwise pretty bare for the future in terms of draft assets. My main complaint this year is that even though they have a goal to win now, they completed the offseason with a roster having 3 of its top 5 players essentially unable to play together for an extended period of time. Luka is probably where he should be. The Lakers are a better place for a true global megasuperstar on and off the court. But the Mavs front office looks like it’s blowing the rebuild despite the incredible good luck it had to land the number 1 pick. And they have absolutely no margin for error left.
