My favorite part from the linked article that itself links the primary article while adding a few lines of its own commentary:

Quote:"One of the few veterans on the team with playoff experience, J.J. Redick, will be a free agent this summer and may choose to go elsewhere."

We've got a real Pelicans insider here.

Quote:People around the NBA believe there’s a good chance the Pelicans will move the No. 10 overall pick in this year’s draft in a deal that would bring back veteran help, says Zach Harper of The Athletic.

New Orleans already has a young roster and is expected to shop veterans like Eric Bledsoe and Steven Adams this offseason in order to create more cap flexibility. Moving Bledsoe and/or Adams would make the roster even younger, perhaps making the Pelicans even less inclined to add another rookie to the mix.

Porzingis for Bledsoe-Adams-10. Git 'er done, Nico. Actually, have to include Powell (or JRich) to make it work moneywise. Sounds good to me.

I believe they can just trade the rights to the player before the contract is signed.

WOULD BE AMAZING!

Get a legit screen setting big.

Get an old, broken down small guard to make everyone happy.

Get a good draft pick to make me happy.

WIN. WIN. WIN.

Well then, you better get your draft work on!

I´d probably do that, and assuming Sengun is gone, I´d try to trade down to #16+#18 + Ty Jerome for #10 with OKC.

I'd only do that if Wagner is there. FA has to be a switchable guy that can hit 3's or rim-roll (maybe Maxi is already that guy?). Collins would be perfect. Guys I really like in this draft are projected on the late teens (Butler, Garuba, Duarte), so not the best value to get them at 10. Not sure Adams or Bledsoe offer anything interesting for us other than salary matching, but I'd roll with it.

Doncic/Brunson
Bledsoe/Green
DFS/Wagner
FA/Kleber
Adams/Powell

I just want a draft pick that opens up our future picks.

I was joking when I typed it, as it seemed lopsided toward the Mavs. However, Adams and (especially) Bledsoe's contracts make them marginally desirable and hard to move (but not as hard as Kristaps!). #10 balances it out. Then of course Powell or JRich unbalances it...

KP and Maxi for Adams, Bledsoe, #10 and OKC's worst 2023?

Edit: never mind, I got confused. We're dealing with the Pels, not the Thunder, which wrecks the whole concept.

I think this works perfectly, if we can get Lavine in 2022.

Doncic
Lavine
Davion Mitchell
DFS
Adams

This actually cross-matches pretty well on defense.

Mitchell vs. best guard
Lavine vs. the weaker guard
DFS vs. best forward
Luka vs. the weaker forward (if there is a physically strong PF, then Luka takes him instead of DFS)
Adams to discus punch everybody in the middle. Big Grin

RE: 2021 NBA DRAFT: July 29 - Kammrath - 07-11-2021

Quote:The Pacers are looking for a player who can contribute right away and are willing to trade the 13th pick in this year’s draft for veteran help, according to J. Michael of The Indianapolis Star (hat tip to RocketsWire). A source tells Michael that Indiana talked to the Rockets about a possible deal.

Michael adds that the Pacers want somebody who is under contract for at least two more years

RE: 2021 NBA DRAFT: July 29 - Mavs2021 - 07-11-2021

So I´ll just assume the Pacers have already agreed to send us the 13th pick for Carlisle. We are just working on a trade now.

THJ + Powell for Turner + Lamb + 13th pick. Blush

Just give me a sign and trade of THJ for the 13th pick (of course the mechanics of that with THJ being a FA....not sure)....

RE: 2021 NBA DRAFT: July 29 - Aussiebballer - 07-11-2021

Can’t work as it would technically be tampering to agree to a sign and trade at the draft.
Like the Bucks and Bogdanivic last year.

RE: 2021 NBA DRAFT: July 29 - Chicagojk - 07-14-2021

Not earth shattering...most likely an UDFA or late second round pick.  But these are the type of guys Dallas needs to consider two way contract on.
