What a game (for a tank team anyways, wins are hard to come by).  It was not that we won it was the way we won.  Instant classic for a tank team.

yeah, it is like YAY, oh crap.  Like Mej's monster game and heroics against MEM last year that basically cost us moving up to the top 2 picks.  But not that bad.  Mej's was worse.  The impact was more immediate.

Man, Portland has dudes dropping like flies.

Wow, I’m surprised at this stat.  Ironically Billy may be more geared to build his team his way vs walking in blind.  Felt he did a great job rookie season.  But he may be able to build it to flow in the way he wants moreso like college he was good at it then.  Walking in to established contender was hard.

Oh, the crazy stat:

Why did he hug the security guard?

Outside chance at Portland entering the tank this year?

He bumped into him by accident with elbow celebrating while going backwards so once turned around he decided to hug him as kind of apology/continued celebration.

Purple?

Ah, that makes sense.  Still funny to see.

Would be cool to see Luka win the MVP but I think it has to be Giannis if they keep winning like this. Not a great roster at all

Who doesn't have a great roster?

They're gonna lose a game at some point, but boy they look scary. 14 straight wins. Giannis not ready to concede the MVP trophy just yet. They've been pummeling teams.

Wow thats horrible.  Puts them almost in tank mode with current record.  I don’t think Melo can keep up his recent performance rest of year either.

I feel ya. Hood wasn't having a great season , still hate to see a serious injury like that. They may be in the trade market starting Dec 15th.

The Bucks
They certainly have a deep group of quality, competent players but hard for me to say they're great. Similar to our roster in a lot ways

cjeter!! I was wondering when you were going to make it over!!

How's it going? What do you think of Mavs and stuff?

Yeah I was waiting to see what happened with all the move and stuff. And then got a bit busy with life you know...
It's an exciting time again!
Biggest thing so far is our depth is just incredible. The roster has meshed extremely well. And we still have a lot of room to grow with youth and lack of chemistry.
I'm excited to see where we are in a few months. This feels like the start of a potentially special run of success (at least for the Mavs history)... It certainly helps ease the cowboys fandom pain.

Thoughts in general on the NBA landscape this year for anyone who cares:

Bucks look fantastic. Kind of obvious to say but if they can actually translate their regular season play into postseason play, they are going to be the team to beat. I think the experience last year is going to be huge come april.

Completely surprised by the Raptors great play. They are a legit team and I would hate to see them find another star if I'm Milwaukee. I think Kawhi made the wrong choice potentially. Nurse is one hell of a coach.
The rest of the east are pretenders.

The LA teams remain on top in the west for me. I think the Clippers are going to be a much tougher playoff team than regular season team. The defensive potential they have I think will peak then. I think the Lakers will be a bit exposed in the playoffs.

Past that, I think the Mavs and Nuggets are in the next tier and pretty even. If KP ever gets it figured out this year, we are in the LA range and true contenders.

Very curious on the moves to come this year for everyone. I'm not sure what the Mavs should do, but Brunson seems incredibly expendable with the emergence of THJ playing arguably the best ball of his career.

I'm glad I was right on Wright. That dude is a baller.

https://theathletic.com/1440758/2019/12/07/isola-knicks-changes-begin-but-wont-end-with-david-fizdale-sources-say-steve-mills-is-finally-on-the-hot-seat/

"What Mills failed to mention is that prior to free agency, according to a league source, the Knicks refused to grant permission to at least two teams who wanted to interview assistant coach Royal Ivey, a personable young coach with New York roots and a promising future. Mills had selfish reasons for wanting to keep the young assistant. Ivey happens to be friends with Durant, his former teammate in Oklahoma City. Mills feared that losing Ivey would compromise the Knicks’ chances of landing Durant. If the move delayed Ivey’s career advancement, so be it. Mills was shooting for the stars. Remember that the next time the Knicks try to tell you that they spurned Durant and Irving.

Mills’ last-minute Plan B was spending $70 million on free agents who are nothing more than role players and backups. The 4-18 start is a good indication that the Knicks didn’t land a single impact player in free agency. So, over the last 10 months with Mills in charge, the Knicks traded Kristaps Porzingis, lost badly in free agency and fired Fizdale. And you thought Phil Jackson was a disaster."

So, after two years of tanking, we are tanking the tanking ratings.  Seems to me tanking worked.

It is kind of amazing how often I visited that site the last two seasons.  Now?  The bookmark is gone and I hadn't even thought about it until it was brought up just now.  Sign of good times where you root for wins instead of entertaining losses.

This. Outside of Wineman and Edwards I don´t even know the names of the top prospects. In the last few years I was deeply invested in the draft. This year I couldn´t care less.
