Wow. Than things are really, really bad.

Yeah. I should've specified earlier - it was just some really serious Rockets fan, not a reporter or anything. Just speculation, but yes, it seems like the Houston owner is hurting.

I think there is just one question. Are their superstars willing to fight with Fertita through this tough years without really any hope for a title, while they are slowly getting past their prime? I think that much is obvious, there is absolutely no chance for the title, even more so with the owner saving every penny while other contenders continue to spend big. Or will they demand a trade?

Would love a former coach as assistant tbh, Someone like Nate McMillan would be decent, or Kenny

Our next assistant coach should be someone who can improve our defense...

Money will talk and the players will likely come around. I would not bet against the TV sponsors winning out for Christmas games.

Yes he is. He owns a bunch of nice restaurants that are getting absolutely destroyed. He's on CNBC like once a week. (The bucks owner is on weekly as well albeit unrelated)

He may be rich but what people don't realize is that a large portion of rich people don't actually have money sitting around. It's all invested to make more money. And by no means am I saying poor rich people... Just pointing out that they can be over leveraged and not enough cash position just like everyone else in America.

Cash flows are hurting for the small businesses he owns and he's waiting for that second round of stimulus. He's been keeping all of his people hired from day 1 IIRC.

I think there is some validity that the Rockets went cheap. Cheap unproven coach and the big money gm gone. I wouldn't be surprised to see them try and trim some money either.

I also don't buy the majority of players are in the camp of January. I think it's the most vocal aka Lebron and some of the other contending teams from Orlando.

You have 8 teams that haven't played since March and have no legitimate reason to want to have January MLK start date.
Another 6 teams haven't played since the 2nd week of August.

That's at least 4 months off for 14 teams. And you got another 8 teams that were off 4 months played a month and will have been off 3 months.

I get wanting to have a normal offseason and getting a bit more time... But you'll have had about 8 months off in the year no matter what team you are. That's perfectly reasonable for all this.

Pretty sure he’s the Landry’s Restaurants guy who was one of the first to let employees go and it was a big mess. If I’m right, there were a lot of articles out about it.

This would really be a blockbuster. Houston could rename themselves in Houston Bricks.

Coach Silas was our offensive assistant coach. To add defense, we would have to also lose Coach Moseley, which could happen. However, having Luka and KP does more than attract potential players because Luka especially will make them look good here. Coach Carlisle has often accomplished the same thing.

My point, Dallas is a good place to come for assistant coaches. We hopefully can take advantage of that. The negative from losing assistants, just like bringing in new players, is the loss of continuity. Therefore, we probably want to find coaches who can be great for several years of the Luka/KP era.

I think certain level of staff rotation is always positive, because it brings new ideas and fresh views.

Having great names can be great. But there is also that "too many cooks spoil the broth" saying

You made a good point here. D'Antoni and Udoka were brought in just to deal with Irving and Vaughn will be dealing with Durant. This will allow Nash to actually coach and not be relegated to babysitter. What they don't realize, this will be the end of them. You don't need to be a genious to see how Durant will be jealus of Irving, because he has two guys. So he will behave even worse which will destruct the team.
