RE: Around the NBA 2019-2020 | $109.1M cap (same), $139M luxury tax line (+$7M)? - DanSchwartzgan - 10-27-2020 (10-27-2020, 03:13 PM)Mapka Wrote: Do we need 3 capholds here? Doesn't one min caphold disapere, because you are signing a player? The number of holds is dependent on whether it is a S&T into space or an outright signing. If an outright signing, you have to actually account for 13 slots. Obviously the difference between flat for 2021 at $109.1mm and moving up to $115mm is huge in terms of what the Mav's may need to do. Many of the things I've thought through and supported change some if this turns out to be the correct number. Of course, 2021 is just a projection at this point and the real number is still a year away. Still, just the thought of projecting a rising cap given the environment really changes things for Dallas. Pfizer said today they were going to apply for emergency usage of vaccine in November. AstraZeneca might be applying for it in November as well tho December was deemed more likely. You can fix the need for a bubble real quick if you got everyone shots right before the season started in late December. That's way too bold tho RE: Around the NBA 2019-2020 | $109.1M cap (same), $139M luxury tax line (+$7M)? - Kammrath - 10-28-2020 https://twitter.com/wojespn/status/1321473853588123649 https://www.hoopsrumors.com/2020/10/miller-family-to-sell-utah-jazz.html RE: Around the NBA 2019-2020 | $109.1M cap (same), $139M luxury tax line (+$7M)? - KillerLeft - 10-28-2020 Man, Utah has got to be a bottom 5 market in the league. If THAT team goes for $1.6 Billion RIGHT NOW... I think this is a nice indicator that short term financial troubles will not really affect the teams. Saving a couple of millions is nothing in the big picture. If someone has financial problems, he sells the team for almost two billion and the new owner covers the COVID hole with new injections. It looks more and more clear we will actually not see teams saving money and dumping players because of the crisis. Morey will sign a five-year deal by this weekend, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic (Twitter link). RE: Around the NBA 2019-2020 | $109.1M cap (same), $139M luxury tax line (+$7M)? - Hypermav - 10-28-2020 Well, the Sixers got "smart". Maybe Morey can trade with us now that he is in the east. Morey loves shooting so how does he feel about Simmons? RE: Around the NBA 2019-2020 | $109.1M cap (same), $139M luxury tax line (+$7M)? - omahen - 10-28-2020 With Morey in Philly, I expect one of the two will happen: Horford will be shipped somewhere with picks in some complicated record breaking 32 team deal (Dallas Stars and Red Sox are rumored to be included) with Hield ending in Philly. I wonder if Curry and Richardson can be part of that. Or... He will trade for CP3. We only executed one trade with the Rockets in my seven years with the Grizzlies, largely because as contenders in the same division we were after a lot of the same players. Nonetheless, we were on the phone with them as much as anyone. As an exec on the opposing side, I always received from them an idea of what was possible — who might be movable, what they wanted, what assets were in play, etc. You can’t win if you don’t play, as the saying goes. Houston, more than any other team in the league, was always willing to play." I wonder if Silas might take Jahmal Mosley too so we could be looking at an overhaul on the bench RE: Around the NBA 2019-2020 | $109.1M cap (same), $139M luxury tax line (+$7M)? - omahen - 10-28-2020 (10-28-2020, 04:06 PM)SwisherPrice Wrote: Yup Houston.
