Flagg could probably score 50+ just on layups and dunks these last two games. Mavs got all this crap for Lively, cause Cuban is a moron, but the Jazz can pull this crap. He's been decent for most of the season...after a slow-ish start. And getting more looks with AD and Flagg not playing. Or in other words: more shots and also better shots better for him. RE: Game 43: Dallas Mavericks (16-26) vs. Utah Jazz (14-27) - Chicagojk - 01-18-2026 Klay seems to be having fun. Question, what happens if he doesn't want to be traded? You do what is right for him, but we always assumed he would want to compete for a championship. What happens if he is fine staying? I have not checked out the Utah reddit boards. I am sure plenty are fine with the two losses and increasing their odds of keeping their pick (for now). Although, some must be disappointed that most of their young players look awful trying to win two games against a pretty spare group of Mavs. RE: Game 43: Dallas Mavericks (16-26) vs. Utah Jazz (14-27) - ThisIStheYear - 01-18-2026 Sometimes a win is a loss. The Mavs are a stupid organization. They should have had their fire sell long ago. They’re putting their future at risk by winning games with a bunch of players who shouldn’t be on the roster next year. Clean house. Eh the players we had playing are perfectly fine to tank, but I never want to hear this BS again that players don´t tank and you are too good to lose that many games. Not only does Utah always sit out every veteran, when they want to lose a game, but the best part is that George took ONE shot in the first half. ONE. Then down 20 he explodes for 23 in the 3rd quarter. Tell me again that players don´t tank. He clearly did that on purpose, cause no #1 option only takes one shot, while his team is getting blown out by 25-30 points. Apparently it´s okay as long as you don´t bet on yourself doing it. I have been asking this same question for weeks. In fact, I get the sense he doesn't want out, at least as far as what we're seeing/hearing. I don't think he moves at this deadline, and honestly, I'm ok with it because the team needs more shooting, not less. RE: Game 43: Dallas Mavericks (16-26) vs. Utah Jazz (14-27) - cow - 01-18-2026 Klay has been awesome the past three games. He might not want out, but if he had the opportunity to play meaningful basketball on a playoff contender, there is zero chance he'd turn it down. I mean, we've heard a lot more about Gafford and AD than we have about Thompson. We've heard nothing about him. Not a peep, unless I'm forgetting something. I assume, as I believe you do, that lowering salary is a priority, but...maybe not? Gonna be a telling trade deadline, I think. I think he's been pretty awesome for quite a while now. He had a rough start, but has quietly been playing pretty well ever since. I don't know if it's because he was moved to a bench role, or if that's just coincidental timing after his rough start, but I've found his play additive for several weeks, generally. It just isn't getting talked about around here much because the team has been so bad nothing like that is really interesting. We're all concerned with AD trades, tanking for a good pick, etc. I'd honestly be surprised if there weren't a few teams out there interested in Thompson for some shooting down the stretch. I just don't know that he or the Mavs are ready to throw in the towel on him playing here yet. I'm a little surprised by that, in a way, but I just haven't seen any indication of it out there. I don't think you'd see any indication. He's a pro and beyond accomplished. That said, I'm sure he privately regrets his choice to come to Dallas and no one would blame him for that. I do hope we do him right and he gets sent to a contender for what's left of the tail end of his prime. Dude has been in basketball purgatory for so long now. |
