Obviously, I'm being as insincere as Hell. . . .I hate that the Mavs were sold to a gaming entity whose primary focus is the legalization of gambling in Texas. The sting is intensified in that the Lakers get our superstar for pennies on the dollar. How many times have I mocked Lakers fans who said "We'll trade for Luka, thinking "no chance in Hell that happens." As far as I'm concerned the Adelsons can move the whole operation to Las Vegas as long as Dallas gets an expansion franchise under new ownership. RE: God Bless the Adelson Family et al - SleepingHero - 02-02-2025 Could go root for the Dallas Chaparrals aka the San Antonio Spurs RE: God Bless the Adelson Family et al - Jason Terry - 02-02-2025 The love of money is the root of all evil. I hope this sports gambling thing destroys the NBA RE: God Bless the Adelson Family et al - Chicagojk - 02-02-2025 Not to get political, but I have been using Mavs and weird science fiction books to block everything out going on. Lets just say my bluesky feed was a tough read this morning. While Cuban lost me when he let Steve walk for money, he redeemed himself sharing $35M of the profits of his sale of the team with employees. Now, it feels like my old team is owned and run by an outfit that feeds on a psychological addiction that ruins lives and disrupts families and everyone involved, players, fans and employees, are just "pawns in their game." |
