RE: FA: Josh Okogie Stays with PHX | 2yrs/16mil - Chicagojk - 07-12-2024 You got to hand it to PHX, they are trying their darnest to create some kind of assets. Overpayng Okogie in hopes they can eventually move him for a better player. He is probably not more than a minimum player. I guess if the owner is fine with spending the extra money as they are already in the second apron, all the power to him. I think PHX is being passed over a little. I just can't trust their health, but I could see a route where one of the top 4 in the West has some injuries and PHX gets a top 4 spot. Heck, they were pretty close this year despite a really frustrating year. Long term, I just don't see much hope of getting to where they thought they could get to though. Maybe a year where they make the conference finals and then never to reach that level again. Getting to a conference finals is an uphill battle though. I just don't think they addressed the obvious problem, which is that they don't have a PG. The 5 is a problem for them, too, but the big mistake was that awful Bradley Beal addition, and he has a no-trade clause. I think they'll have nights when they look dominant, but end of the day those guys don't fit with each other as a trio, imho. |
