LETS GO MAVS!!! WHAT A FREAKING GAME.
HAVEN'T HAD GOOSEBUMPS WATCHING A GAME LIKE THAT SINCE GAME 7 AGAINST THE SUNS! THE MAVS ABSOLUTELY SHREDDED THE WOLVES.
Holy crap. I'm buzzed. I can't believe it. What a game.
To the dirkie contenders.
The whole damn team came out focused and ready to go.
DJJ played some of the best defense of the series tonight. He was all over Ant and Conley. He suffocated KAT. Amazing game from DJJ
PJ was ready and hit his shots. His defense on KAT was solid despite some lapses. He was relatively quiet, but he did exactly what was asked of him. Solid solid game from PJ.
GAFFORD! HE ABSOLUTELY MADE GOBERT HIS SON! His energy was insane all night. He couldn't be denied, whether it be on the boards, at the rim, on defense. He was there to collect his checks BECAUSE RENT WAS DUE!
KYRIE THE SAGE! After a shaky first, he took off in the 2nd and never looked back. He was legit running circles all around the Wolves all night. He sliced and diced up all the Wolves bigs and made them look just downright silly. He took smart shot after smart shot. He played such a good game. He kept everyone locked in and hit tough jumper after tough jumper. What a fucking game from him man.
Lively's presence just can't be replicated man. He was legit everywhere tonight. His defense is incredible. He did a little bit of everything. All of his reads were incredible out of the short roll. This guy is a rookie man. Absolutely unbelievable.
But the man of the hour has to be Luka Doncic. Babayaga himself. HE came out and set the tone. His 20 in the first quarter just shell shocked the Wolves. They didn't know what to do. And he kept coming. Some of those threes man made me lose my voice. I woke up the whole neighborhood. AND HE LET THE WOLVES KNOW ABOUT IT. I saw a clip of Luka after he hit I think his 4th 3 in the first he turns around to Finch and I mouthed out the words "SIT THE FUCK DOWN AND SHUT THE FUCK UP!" THAT IS THE ATTITUDE WE NEEDED AND HE DESTROYED THE WOLVES SINGLEHANDEDLY. HE OUTSCORED THE WOLVES BY HIMSELF IN THE 1ST!!!!! LUKA AND KYRIE OUTSCORED THE WOLVES BASICALLY FOR THE ENTIERTY OF THE GAME!!! THAT IS NOT NORMAL. ABSOLUTE KILLERS! LUKA I HAVE TO GIVE YOU THE DIRKIE MAN! WHAT A FREAKING PERFORMANCE!
MY CAPS LOCK ARE OFFICIALLY BROKEN. YOU SHOULD BE HYPED! YOUR MAVS ARE GOING TO THE FINALS!!! IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE YOU SHOULDN'T BE HERE! 4 MORE WINS. THATS IT MAVS. 4. MORE. WINS! LETS DO THIS THING!

Pretty good team win, but they gotta quit easing up sometimes.
At first glance it might seem like Kyrie and Luka are co-candidates for the Dirkie...both having scored 36 points. And had 5 assists each. But Luka had 10 rebounds and 2 steals in addition. Some sticklers might also say that Luka had 4 turnovers as apposed to none for Kyrie.
I'd almost like to give co-Dirkies, but that lessens the value of "the Dirkie."
So...with that thought, and not lessening the value of Kyrie...I will give my Dirkie to Luka.

The game was kinda over in the first quarter. The wolves not only didn’t have any answer for Luka going nuclear and they seriously looked dazed and confused. The man who orchestrated that first round haymaker deserves the Dirkie.
But man I love what Lively brings. He’s nowhere near playing like a rookie.

Congrats Mavs fans. We learned long ago it can hurt to lose in the finals. But we also know that this team has definitely now accomplished something huge. This feels even better than Phoenix because we got one huge step further. This is little like 2011 because we are up against the team that has been the heavy favorite all year but we are far less of an underdog than anyone expected because NBA fandom seems to have figured out that we are really good too.
Congrats to Luka on the Dirkie and the Conference Finals MVP.

wood could've resigned with mavs for an annual salary of around 16m. Spencer could've rejoined us for about 5m/yr after getting waived. yet both guys chose to join LeBron for vet mins or similar pays. I guess a long leisurely holiday in the sunshine of the western coast and not having to play hard on a long tough playoff tournament must be worth a few million extra bucks.
