I hate the Mavs uniforms/visual identity - Branduil - 05-04-2024 Sorry this is a nitpick thread but I just want to say I absolutely hate the Mavs current set of uniforms. Every game is a different uniform and there's no consistency in colors, logos, fonts, designs, etc. It seems like they just see any design they think looks cool and add it to their set without worrying if it matches. The Mavs have never had a super strong visual identity, but at least they had one with the blue and green in the first couple decades and the blue and silver in most of the Dirk era. Anyway yeah this is a nitpick thread but I hope the new owners can appreciate the benefit of a consistent visual brand and commission a new, consistent, and good look for the Luka era. RE: I hate the Mavs uniforms/visual identity - SleepingHero - 05-05-2024 You should direct your ire to Nike. The lack of consistent uniforms/colors/design is from them. They're the ones that got rid of "Home" "Away" and "Alternate", and replaced it with "Icon", "Association", and "City" all because they could make more money by featuring uniforms in any order they wanted. The city uniform especially. It's a new thing every year and makes fans purchase a special uniform if they please. I'm with you though. It's disgusting there is no consistency anymore. RE: I hate the Mavs uniforms/visual identity - jack1111 - 05-29-2024 I can understand your perspective on the Mavs uniforms. Visual identity is a big part of a team's brand, and it’s important for fans to feel connected to it. Maybe a redesign or update could better capture the team’s spirit and history. It would be interesting to see if other fans feel the same and what changes they would suggest. RE: I hate the Mavs uniforms/visual identity - Berknip - 05-29-2024 Bring back the trash bag uniforms!! RE: I hate the Mavs uniforms/visual identity - RGP1981 - 06-05-2024 I'm just going to leave this here... the sexiest looking uniforms in the league. ![]() The purple with blue/white mountain range is my favorite. ![]() RE: I hate the Mavs uniforms/visual identity - DallasMaverick - 06-05-2024 (06-05-2024, 03:12 PM)RGP1981 Wrote: I'm just going to leave this here... the sexiest looking uniforms in the league. I think Luka will likely ask for a trade to Utah, just simply because those uniforms are so appealing. Great stuff. Just need to remove the logo and name. Or even better. Relocate the franchise. But with the new owners in and hopefully a decade of contention ahead, Mavs should creating a consistent visual identity a top priority. It's not only the unis, but as the number customer touchpoint, these should include all essential identity aspects and at the same time the flexibility for future adaptations. Let's hope the black/blue casino themed ones aren't supposed to be just that. RE: I hate the Mavs uniforms/visual identity - DallasMaverick - 06-11-2024 Seems like they have a much more favorable visual identity when they win. |
