If we could get LeBron, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook, it doesn't really matter about the other guys on the roster because they would be so good that they'd always win, and this board would have nothing to complain about. I'd love: - Siakam - OG - Precious I'd be take in a packaged deal: - FVV - Trent Jr - Young I think it makes sense to deal with Toronto. There's too much there that we need, on a bad Eastern Conference team. RE: TRADE & FA: Mavs interested in Nerlens? Collins? Bojan? LaVine? Reddish? | TDL Feb 9 - Jym - 01-22-2023 Agreed If not us, another West conference team is about to greatly improve their chances of getting to the Finals after throwing all their assets at the Raptors They have a 7 game road trip coming up. Decent chance they return home with a totally different team RE: TRADE & FA: Mavs interested in Nerlens? Collins? Bojan? LaVine? Bullock/SRP for Quickley/Reddish Luka, Quickly FVV, THJ OG, Reddish Boucher, Maxi Wood, Powell Fodder: Magee, Bertans, Pinson (try to package them in a THJ trade). I don't think NY does that trade, but the Toronto trade seems possible just because it seems like a lot for both sides. You have to give up to get. Honestly that's an all in move and I don't think that makes us title contenders. RE: TRADE & FA: Mavs interested in Nerlens? Collins? Bojan? LaVine? Think Quickley (and maybe Hartenstein) has to be "the" target if you are dealing with the Knicks. He might fix the 3rd playmaker void, while also upping the defense by a lot. Could totally see him working very well next to Luka. There was one rumor that the Mavs/Bucks are interesting in him. Not feeling the Reddish trade, if that is the only guy the Mavs are getting. Quickley impact numbers looking really good, kinda like Josh Green. I would nearly give up a 1st for Quickley/Hartenstein i think. 1st/Quickley/Hartenstein/Reddish for Bullock/McGee 1st in plus minus / 2nd in on/off / 1st in defensive on/off Quickley is totally dominating Knicks 2 man lineups like Josh Green. But on a higher minutes sample size. Knicks has been 13.7 pts better on defense with Quickley on the floor. Otherwise their defense is collapsing far worse than the Mavs without Green. He is 23, and showing signs of being capable being on and off the ball next to Brunson. Now ""demoted"" to the bench, because Barrett is back from injury. Doubt he is super happy being a backup. Barret is really the Knicks version of making too much cash to be benched. Quickley might just be the defensive PG version that would be a great fit on the bench with Spencer or starting with Luka. There are lots of things to like on the NY roster (I wonder if bridges were burned behind the scenes this summer). You’ve identified two. I’d also be happy with Quickley and Sims. I would note that if there is a Plan Powder for 2024 as I wrote elsewhere, Rose and Fournier would be logical ads if NY wants to make the package bigger. Rose has a TO, so they don’t have to keep him. Fournier is just dead money that pushes them closer to the LT next season. Paying a first for Reddish is just an embarrassment and moving him is probably more about saving face than getting real value. To me, NY should try to cash in some of its picks and Rose for an upgrade somewhere. I like that they think highly of Bullock, but that is a secondary move. Their first priority should be Rose and kids and picks for something before the TDL. If that doesn’t materialize, then moving away from the LT (to avoid being hard-capped) would help them make deals this summer. I could see Reggie and expiring for Fournier and Kids making sense. Not sure if Powell for Hartenstein is that expiring or if LeVert makes more sense going to NY in a three team with Cleveland involving THJ. Unfortunately, neither Powell nor LeVert is a great three-point shooter and NY needs shooting. If you do Powell/Reggie for Fournier/IH/Quickley, Dallas would need to add some salary. The more even financial move would be Powell/Reggie for Fournier/Sims/Quickley. NY gets useful-now Reggie for useful-later Sims/Quickley. Part of the compensation for that is Powell making the Fournier money disappear. Might not require picks. We would miss Powell a little in the near term, but Sims brings a similar game in a bigger body. As others have said, Quickley is that third ball-handling guard who defends well that we could really use. RE: TRADE & FA: Mavs interested in Nerlens? Collins? Bojan? LaVine? They get playoff tested vets and completely shore up the 3 spot with DFS starting and backing up Randle then Bullock coming in behind DFS. My hope was that it took 1 FRP. My thought is it would take 2. I do it for 1, I don’t for 2. RE: TRADE & FA: Mavs interested in Nerlens? Collins? Bojan? LaVine?
