RE: TRADE & FA RUMORS: Ayton, JC, MT out? | NYK clearing space for JB? - mvossman - 06-21-2022 (06-21-2022, 03:46 PM)F Gump Wrote: I'd see Hayward as more of a 6th man type. Not only because I think they need Bullock's better D in the starting lineup, but also because that might lead to less wear and tear on GH (and less chance of another injury). I don't think there is much drop off on D going from Bullock to Hayward. Hayward is a little bigger and you probably don't want him running around for 40 minutes like Bullock does, but he has been a decent defender even after the injury. He is also the better player and getting paid way more and that generally equates to starting. Adding Bertans into the deal makes it start looking too good to be true. I am skeptical they will want to take on that contract. If necessary, I would be willing to take on that Plumlee contract in order to send out Bertans. He could fill the bruising center role. RE: TRADE & FA RUMORS: Ayton, JC, MT out? | NYK clearing space for JB? - F Gump - 06-21-2022 How about .... Mavs send -- to Cha THJ, Bertans, Powell, Green Cha sends -- to Mavs Hayward, Washington to ORL Rozier ORL sends -- to Mavs Isaac Too pipe-dreamy, perhaps? I think he is solid. But you think he is better than Bullock, Washington, and Maxi? The last two at the 4 where you are placing GH? I think GH as your 4 with Wood as your 5 is seriously small. Even with DFS still out there. I have been saying that I want more size in the lineup, so take that as you will. I know that Washington isn't a lot bigger than GH, but his game is more physical. I really like GH, Din and defense/space running the second team. Seems like they would crush it! RE: TRADE & FA RUMORS: Ayton, JC, MT out? | NYK clearing space for JB? - Mavsfan12 - 06-21-2022 (06-21-2022, 04:04 PM)F Gump Wrote: How about .... OMG. If that were a healthy lineup, it would challenge the W's win record. I think you would just spend the regular season with GH and Isaac in bubble wrap to get to the postseason healthy. Also, that would effective change out the bottom 8 roster spots on our team for Hayward, Washington, Isaac, Wood, and open roster spots. Nico could send invites to his exec of the year award. RE: TRADE & FA RUMORS: Ayton, JC, MT out? | NYK clearing space for JB? - nash_funk - 06-21-2022 Haywood's defense has really dropped off. Too many injuries. Look at his advanced stats from last year. All things considered, I'd rather Harris, Randle, or Collins. RE: TRADE & FA RUMORS: Ayton, JC, MT out? | NYK clearing space for JB? - KillerLeft - 06-21-2022 I don't think this will happen, but in the back of my mind I've been wondering what effect Burke potentially opting out of his last year might have on the CW deal? Would it still be cap legal without him? Thanks! RE: TRADE & FA RUMORS: Ayton, JC, MT out? | NYK clearing space for JB? - VintagePejav2 - 06-21-2022 Sorry - to be clear on what Givony said on the podcast: he doubted that the Rockets would actually make 3 1st round picks this year. He said that the Christian Wood trade is open to expand to a 3rd team, since it is not official yet. Then he suggested that Josh Green could be available (to bring another rotation player back to Dallas). It sounded mostly speculative and not necessarily rumor-based. RE: TRADE & FA RUMORS: Ayton, JC, MT out? | NYK clearing space for JB? - Smitty - 06-21-2022 If Green were included in the Houston trade, even if a 3rd team is involved, what’s the best guess/best case scenario for a return? I think the clarification was that the Houston trade expansion and the (speculative) Green availability were two totally separate thoughts. RE: TRADE & FA RUMORS: Ayton, JC, MT out? | NYK clearing space for JB? - DanSchwartzgan - 06-21-2022 Love all of the Charlotte ideas. They seem somewhat ripe for something. Nothing I’ve seen solves their center issue though. All of the mocks have them taking Mark Williams, but is that enough to satisfy their playoff goals? They are rumored to be talking to Indy about Turner, but Indy is talking all sorts of things right now. Yes, Powell can be a placeholder for a year, I guess. But Plumlee already does that. Maybe they don’t have to pay Harrell if they have Powell? If we believed Stein’s reporting on LaVine, then getting Hayward makes some sense in terms of taking some of the scoring load off of Luka. I’m a P.J. Washington fan, but struggle to see them giving him up if they are able to move on from Gordon’s money. They have Jalen McDaniels as UFA next summer. I wonder if he’d be the outgoing instead. Are we still interested in THJ/Powell for Hayward/McDaniels? It seems more fair than Dallas getting Hayward and Washington. Didn’t see this anywhere, but Dallas made a trade in the Locked On Ultimate Mock Draft. The recording was done before the Wood trade, so it was out of date. The deal was with Denver. THJ/26 for Barton/Jeff Green/21 and they took Dieng who had slipped to that spot. Barton and Green are older and UFA next summer. It saves the THJ money the final two years of his deal, but provides some useful players at two positions in the current season. I thought it was an interesting approach and possibly a model for some kind of THJ or Dinwiddie trade the next week or two.
