RE: AROUND the NBA: Zion foot healing regressing, reevaluated in 4-6 weeks - HoosierDaddyKid - 01-01-2022 DeRozan does it again. Back to back buzzer beaters, this time vs the Wizards. Bulls have won 7 straight. Demar is having a hell of a season so far. He is playing so damn good right now. 1) So far I am being proven wrong on him. I thought he was a TERRIBLE signing by CHI. 2) He is shooting 8% higher on threes than his career high! Is it the ball???!?!? 3) He had NINE straight seasons of a negative On/Off +/-.....now is +15.8 this year. Will be interested to see if this holds up. How can you disrespect John Lucas ? How can you disrespect John Lucas ? Looking at the boxscore, you can see why the Wood situation escalated. He didn´t start the game. Then he put in an eight minute shift going -17 with a 0/1/0/0/0 stat line. I assume he was pouting, because he was benched. Not immediately clear what the problem with KPJ would be. Guess not following some instructions, cause he played 16 minutes with 8 points, 3 assists, 1 turnover, minus five, which is by far the best number on the team, given they trailed by 24 at HT. We already knew KPJ had a volatile personality, but well they got him for nothing, so not much of a problem. Take a shot, and it doesn´t work, you can just waive him. Just saw that Wood is already in year two of his 41/3 contract, so not impossible to trade, but this was a reminder that he´s not an easy character and his trade value just went into the tank. Justifiably so... I expect Houston to be active at the TDL. RE: AROUND the NBA: Zion foot healing regressing, reevaluated in 4-6 weeks - Chicagojk - 01-02-2022 I am not sure we have a legit offer for Wood now, but we could this offseason. The question is he the right type of guy? Can he do the right things for a winning team? Is he dependable? there was a lot of chatter about him previously and then some talk that he may have matured. RE: AROUND the NBA: Zion foot healing regressing, reevaluated in 4-6 weeks - Tyler - 01-02-2022 Silas seems like the kind of coach who would really appreciate some hardworking Dwight Powell intangibles right now. RE: AROUND the NBA: Zion foot healing regressing, reevaluated in 4-6 weeks - RedFlag41 - 01-02-2022 Maybe the Rockets will be amenable to trade Wood for Powell and Josh Green. Powell is a serviceable big who will provide locker room leadership while Green has potential to be a future starter for them in line with their rebuild. As a good defender with some playmaking skills, he can be a good fit alongside the other Green who is more skilled offensively. Wood, a mobile big with defensive and offensive skill, will fit nicely with KP. They can be interchangeable in offense and defense. Kind of like to see more Green Energy in a Mavs uniform this season. However, would Wood be happy here with fewer shots then he is getting in HOU? RE: AROUND the NBA: Zion foot healing regressing, reevaluated in 4-6 weeks - dirkfansince1998 - 01-02-2022 Safe to say that Jaylen Brown isn´t getting traded any time soon. Career high 50pts in an OT game against the Magic. 50pts/11reb/4ast. 19/29 FG 5/10 from 3 7/8 FT. Getting more serious when Smart made a comment about their willingness to share the ball a few weeks ago. It is getting more and more obvious that both aren´t good or willing passers. Difficult to run a high level offense when two players are shot hunting. One with a mediocre 3.8:2.8 ast/tov ratio. One with a terrible 2.7:3.2 ast/tov ratio. Last few games lead to heavy criticism of Brown. 24 FGA / 4ast / 6tov 36FGA / 0ast/ 3tov 20 FGA /3 ast / 6tov He really needed a good game to silence the trade rumors. Personally I agree with you and would try to build around them. Not exactly sure how but it probably starts with a pass first PG that can create a little bit more than Schroder or Smart. Yeah, a Lowry type player would work magic with those two. Not a lot of those super tough guys out there though who would demand the ball over those two. A lower tier player like someone such as Tyus Jones could work. Jones may be just a really good backup point, but I have always liked him. He is a FA this summer.
