RE: AROUND the NBA: Zion foot healing regressing, reevaluated in 4-6 weeks - BasketballJones41 - 12-28-2021 (12-28-2021, 05:26 PM)SleepingHero Wrote: I'd add Bradley Beal, CJ McCollum, and even Dame to that list. Gordon Hayward as well if the price is right.I think the Warriors are sitting back and waiting for Lillard or Beal to request a trade. Obviously would love to have either one of those guys. I think I’m out on CJ but I like Gordon Hayward. RE: AROUND the NBA: Zion foot healing regressing, reevaluated in 4-6 weeks - ClutchDirk - 12-28-2021 OT: RIP John Madden...a true legend... His reputation might be at an all time low but that's still a big name that the Lakers HAVE to move in order to have any outside hope of competing for a title in the next two years. RE: AROUND the NBA: Zion foot healing regressing, reevaluated in 4-6 weeks - Chicagojk - 12-29-2021 I stole this off Reddit. I don't agree with all of it. Just a few guys talking hoops on a podcast. Remember Chris Paul was high on this list at a time. Things can change. But I do think it is interesting that some of the players we have wanted or discussed in the past, are also on this list. From looking at the list it may have been set up as a snake draft so probably the not well researched list, but still. KP listed as the 17th worst contract. https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/rr5l9q/bill_simmons_podcast_with_house_and_bigwos_worst/ RE: AROUND the NBA: Zion foot healing regressing, reevaluated in 4-6 weeks - omahen - 12-29-2021 (12-29-2021, 08:57 AM)Chicagojk Wrote: I stole this off Reddit. I don't agree with all of it. Thanks for posting. Definitely a lot of surprises there. It feels like they forgot about THJ If they have J. Harris, Hield, Fournier and Powell on this list. I would say this is a price for shooters. Surprised they see Fox as such a bad contract, I think there would be plenty of takers if he was available (while there are none for Love despite him being available for 2 years now). I wouldn't have Capella, Theis and McConnell on this list. If...IF...there is to be a KP deal at some point, the returning salary would probably come from this list. You probably have to eliminate the smaller salary guys like Theis, THT, Fultz, Kennard, McConnell and Noel. What you have left is a lot of the guys we've been discussing. Cheap and talented won't be on the menu. RE: AROUND the NBA: Zion foot healing regressing, reevaluated in 4-6 weeks - Chicagojk - 12-29-2021 The Cavs have been one of the best stories over the first few months of the season. There has been some talk that they could be a sneaky team to make a move. Last night, Rubio got hurt. We will see, but it may not be good news. Looked like an ACL injury per sources. With Sexton already out for the year, they may be in a tough spot. They are already pretty weak on wing players. Rubio has been very good this year. If he is out, his impact may be tough to replace on how he can get open looks for players. I suspect both teams want to see the other player at full strength before pulling the trigger. KP/Precious/Barnes make a good 4/5 rotation. OG is the ultimate 3 and D forward and you have FVV and Trent as the starting 1/2. Toronto's bench would be a little thin still. In Dallas, Siakam would be a great defender and can obviously create his own shot. I'd prefer he be a better three point shooter, but Kidd seems to prioritize getting to the basket. I'm not sure the fit with Powell is ideal, but I've long thought Powell in Toronto makes great sense from a fan standpoint. The most interesting thing about all of this would be if other pieces would be added and what they would be. Swapping Powell for Boucher or Birch might make sense. Toronto could use a backup 2/3 type (Bullock?). Or, do you expand the deal in such a way that Dragic comes back as part of the trade rather than a cut and sign? To bring back Siakam and Dragic, you have to send out almost $10.25mm beyond KP's salary (Bullock plus Moses? and keep Chriss?). Maybe you send THJ and bring back Dragic and a big. Lots of mix and match opportunities. Something else that draws me to this is the fact Siakam went to HS in Lewisville. We hear a lot about Nico's connections in this part of the country. Surely Siakam was on his radar. He wears Nike's during games, but I don't know if he has a contract with them or not. Two poor fits in their current situation that both need a new start. RE: AROUND the NBA: Zion foot healing regressing, reevaluated in 4-6 weeks - SleepingHero - 12-29-2021 KP giving 20ppg a night when healthy is worth his contract imo. His injury history is what plagues him but compared to other big men he's basically right around league average for games missed. Pretty sure the only bigs that don't miss a significant amount of time in the league are Jokic and Gobert. RE: AROUND the NBA: Zion foot healing regressing, reevaluated in 4-6 weeks - Chicagojk - 12-29-2021 Well the Celtics shot 4-42 from three tonight. The starters were 1 for 28. I guess I should not laugh as the Mavs could make me eat those laughs. I might need to be committed if the Mavs shot 4 for 42 from three in a game. Earlier tonight Jaylen Brown took 36 shot attempts and finished the game with 0 assists. That ties a mark by Antoine Walker and Mike Mitchell https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask?q=most+field+goal+attempts+in+an+nba+game+without+an+assist+since+1979-80 This right after teammates were complaining about him not sharing the ball. One of him or Tatum has to be coming on the trade block soon at some point you would think RE: AROUND the NBA: Zion foot healing regressing, reevaluated in 4-6 weeks - HoosierDaddyKid - 12-30-2021 Ja Morant is the real deal, and Memphis has the 4th best record in the West, even with key players out on protocols and injuries. Yes he is. I think the really only concern for him is if he will stay healthy. He has had a few close calls. Memphis is good and they are positioned well moving forward. They are even a sneaky team to make a big trade, if they desire. That front office has just strung double after double...with the Morant home run. Just really impressive. I think one of my biggest frustrations over the last few years is seeing other teams (PHX last year, Memphis this year, and a few others) make jumps. It is a clear contrast to the Mavs... the Mavs should be with these teams. It just hits you constantly in the face. Brown and Tatum can't control a team. A tough minded, physical, winner PG type would really help there. Not sure who that player is or how they get him. A Paul/Lowry type would really help. Lonzo may not be the ideal strong willed type, but he would be good too. Those guys are not available though. The next year they need to find one though or Brown and Tatum are going to be wasted (BTW, they are both to blame as well). But having two wings like that in their 20's is a waste right now. They should be in a much better place with those two. They need to find a way to make it work, instead of breaking them up. |
