Would be perfect next to KP...

Suns reluctant to max Ayton.

Bridges too. They will likely lose 1 of 2 easily, and its going down from there.

CP3 will decline, and the Suns window is broke already.

It is nice that Luka is so good, his money is a no brainer.  See, I didn't stir up any KP stuff...

I think it is quite questionable if Ayton is worth max, but lets assume he is. We can offer Powell, Kleber and 2022, 2025, 2027 FRP on draft night. I would rather have Bridges though.

My assumption is that Sarver watched Atlanta hold out for a better deal with Collins and wants to do the same with Ayton. But IMO the difference here is that the market next year has more teams with space than we saw this summer, and Ayton should have no problem finding a max offer. Sure, Phoenix may ultimately match. But Sarver is notoriously cheap and I also have no doubt that he is fully capable of screwing up a good thing.

If I'm Ayton my thinking is if MPJ is worth a max then I'm certainly worth a max. And the market will align for him to get a max from somebody next offseason

The salary cap makes things wonky. Luka would be making 100+M per season if there was no cap

I'd rather have Ayton myself. Bridges would be kind of redundant when we've already added Bullock and Brown. Ayton I think has the potential to be a #2 guy, Bridges does not

Rick gonna get Ben?

Feels like one of those

5% championship
95% crash and burn

scenarios.

I'd look forward to the first time Rick draws up a gameplan where Simmons just stands in the corner. Both when Simmons freaks out about not being featured and Carlisle freaks out about him not being willing and able to take the best shot on paper. They could charge double for popcorn that game.

RE: AROUND the NBA: Klay to try to return in "maybe January" | Zion out with foot surgery - fifteenth - 10-05-2021

Ben would either be his PG or Dwight Powell Supreme

Getting paid to take Simons with a 2nd round pick is such a heady move. To keep a cheap guard that can hit a 3 on the bench and simultaneously help with the Brunson issue, fixes a lot of Mavs problems. We could then start attaching Brunson to more ambitious deals and kick the whole extension problem a year down the line if needed.

Only major hurdle I see right now is finding the roster spot. I don't think the Blazers are interested much at all in Terry. Burke also doesn't solve their tax issue. M. Brown's contract does help them though. Mavs spare parts in Terry+Brown  does not fix their cap situation as they'd still need to clear 1 mil.

Guess it boils down to waiving Terry and Brown outright themselves, and then taking Simons on, which I don't think the Mavs find ideal.

Luka/Brunson/Burke/Franky
THJ/Bullock/Terry
DFS/Green/S.Brown
KP/Maxi/
Powell/WCS/Boban/M.Brown

In my mind, the Mavs HAVE to fix the guard rotation should they want to take the next step. 3 of them are forgettable, and 1 doesn't really fix their needs. Dragic would have been such a big get.

I think 3 FRP is the going rate for BOTH of those dudes. Neither are an all-star so 3 FRP is pricy enough. Add on 2 cheap but value bigs to replace them and its a solid package.

I'd throw in DFS too and Brunson to sweeten the deal. Those guys are good, but Ayton+Bridges transforms this team.

Luka
THJ
Bridges
KP
Ayton

Is better than the Suns were this last year by a mile.

Guess if that continues Lavine will not ask for a trade. Starting five +40 in 20 minutes against the Cavs.

Also so annoyed about Kevin Porter Jr. 25/5/4/1/1 stat line in the Rockets win. We are so dead in guard talent and he was there for free. Yes he has a troubled personality, but he also has had a close relationship with Jamal Crawford and to some extent Jason Terry. I´d rather have Porter Jr. and Jamal Babysitter Crawford on the roster than Burke and Terry. Confused

I think Simmons is just what the DR ordered for Indiana. I don't think it would crash and burn at all.

Having said that, I don't think Morey would be remotely interested in a Simmons-for-LaVert-based deal. I don't see how it's possible without Indiana shaking things up much more.

Imo, Simmons fits well with everyone in Indiana except Sabonis. Philly has no use for Sabonis, but that IS about what Simmons is worth (I'd guess) these days, with all the drama. If I was running Indiana I'd be trying to find a 3-way deal.

There is always Brogdon who would be perfect for Philly and who was rumored to be on the table.

One proposal

Cha: Sabonis, Lamb
Ind: Simmons
Phi: Hayward

Add picks and young assets if you wish, wherever you think the offer is light.

So it is not beyond for the Nets to collect that second rounder for a couple of mil.
