This is actually a very interesting situation. What if D'Antoni and Stotts are no longer interested. It's not often you see someone accept a head coaching position and then renege like this. Is there something behind the curtain in Charlotte or did GS winning the title lead Atkinson to change his mind?

-Do they run it back with Wiggins and try to repeat and then let him walk for nothing?  They'd certainly have a good shot at repeating, especially if Klay can bounce back.
-Do they trade Wiggins and try to turn him into something smaller and more useful long term?
-Would they consider trading Dray or Klay?  I doubt either.  Dray is the engine that makes everything work.  Klay looks washed up but maybe the 2nd year after all those injuries will let him get much closer to being himself than what he has shown this past year.  I'd personally try to move off of Klay and build around an aging Steph, Wiggins and Poole but again, I think they'll be loyal to both Klay and Dray.

I wouldn't give up on Klay just yet. His defense may suffer some after the injuries, but he's still a elite scorer.  That won't change. Wiggins made the difference for them.

Kerr made him his top assisitant when Brown left for Sacto.  Could he take over if Kerr decides to retire in a year or so?  He did a about face aweful fast.  Might be a under the table deal made. I don't see it, but nothing surprises me anymore.

Shams says Kyrie and the Nets are at an impasse that has cleared the way for Kyrie to consider the open market.   Says Lakers and Knicks (out of Jalen race?) are expected to emerge as suitors.

He also said the Pacers are seriously discussing trades around Brogdon and Turner.   The wizards and Knicks are interested in Brogdon and the Hornets has expressed interest in Turner.

Timberwolves have discussed deals for veteran centers, including Clint Capela.

If you told me this is how the Nets would've turned out when they managed to pull off Durant+Kyrie in 1 summer I'd have called you mad.

Everything that has gone wrong has went wrong and it's hilarious because most of it has come from Kyrie just being Kyrie.

And the W's winning the chip this year had to be a final kick to the nuts to top off this hellish season.  I like Durant as a player.  I have to imagine that he is revisiting some of his career choices right now.

I don´t know. Maybe. He certainly doesn´t like the perception that has been attached to his championships, but is having two championships worse than having none like loyal players like Ewing, Malone or Miller?

He seems to blame Westbrook for his OKC "failures", but the set-up with Westbrook wasn´t that. He was a better player than Westbrook, he was also never a leader/alpha. He´s like the super-charged version of Anthony Davis or Kevin Garnett. Even on the title-winnning Celtics Paul Pierce was the alpha.

Durant/Westbrook were both 27 years old at the time of his departure, so that´s usually when the winning championships window starts. I think they could have gotten a ring together with a better coach. Then if they don´t, we return to the original question: would you rather be Two-Ring Kevin or No-Ring Karl.

One thing is for sure I want nothing to do with Irving, unless it´s for THJ/Bertans straight up and even then I´d view it more as a salary dump than an on-court trade.
