With Barnes, the issue with the contract isn't the size, it's the length and will he sign here after 1 year, and I covered that in one of my posts.

Whether it is intentional or not, it pisses me off to see RC doing the "tank" properly in IND. The failed "tank" during Luka's rookie season still pisses me off.

That's a weird way to look at. Did you ever consider it's harder to lose games when you have Luka Doncic playing 30mpg on your team?

I mean the win against PHX was Dirk's final home game. You HAVE to win that game to honor Dirk and his legacy.
The MEM game was the Salah Mejri game where he made a game winning block. Hard to game plan around that.
The OKC win had Trey Burke playing 12 mins and Ryan "the Accountant" Broekhoff playing 10 mins. I mean sure he could've thrown in Kostas or someone. I can't really remember that game, but I'll concede they should've lost this one.

They were talking about Drummond the other day on a podcast. He is considered one of the all-time great rebounders and he's just 10 years in.

Drummond is a fantastic rebounder, and a guy I have my eye on for a bench big. He can't really defend. But catch lobs and rebound? We need that. He'd be better than Chriss imo.

Random observations:
RB at -1.26 (-1.23 on D) seems way off. KP also feels too high on both ends. Luka's D seems high.

I completely stopped looking at that when I found much better advanced stats (EPM, Lebron, Darko).

Bullock at -1.23 on D is way off. KP is really high on all of the advanced stats (Lebron had him as an all-star until he missed too many games). They also all think Luka's D is much better this year.

I think part of the reason KP is so high in the advanced stats is the work he did when Luka was out. I think he was the biggest reason we stayed afloat (maybe even more than Brunson) during that period. He actually did provide value to this team contrary to some of the opinions on here, he just was not a good fit.

This was by far the best season KP has had since the short stint in the bubble. But even in his best season he had to sit out multiple times.
I do find it a little curious that he hasn't played for the Wizards yet. He's listed as day to day but general knee soreness shouldn't keep someone out nearly a month.

Ya, I’m very glad to have him off the team for injuries alone. Add the fit issues and it’s even more relief. However, when he played, he did more good than bad, IMO.

Listened to KOC and Rob Mahoney pod on the Ringer podcast network (The Void if anyone wants to check it out! Always interesting guests).
And they were talking about the KP trade and what it meant for the Mavs. Mahoney essentially praised the front office for having the wherewithal and maturity to admit a mistake and attempt to fix it.
Now they weren't willing to say a return of Dinwiddie+Bertans was anything to write home about unless you truly believe Bertans has a renaissance in shooting and Dinwiddie returning to form.
What I found the most interesting was Mahoney bringing up a point I largely agreed with, and that was:

They both specifically mentioned KP's stagnation in his development of game and he's has really not adapted at all to this new NBA. Mahoney summarizes "if a team can get away with putting a SG or SF on you and you can't abuse that matchup consistently, you're no better than Ryan Anderson who was chased out of the league for that exact reason"
I am a huge KP fan. I believed in each successive season that this will be the one where everything clicks. But what those guys said couldn't have been more accurate, and looking at it from that POV, then I'm not surprised KP's value was so low.
